The zing of the lemon, the crunch of the beans, the fresh coconut rice... hot damn. Not one to be missed... get amongst it from now till sold out! After months of heats and semi finals, the highly anticipated GRAND FINAL for the South West Talent Quest is upon us THIS SUNDAY the 18th of October from 3pm 6.30pm. Our fabulous finalists are: AGE 6-12 CATEGORY: Hannah Kerr Indi Marsh Chad Gillmore Lilly Coleman Charlotte Gronow Estella Melville AGE 13-17 CATEGORY: Ben Lindberg Lilla-Grace Howarth Astarah Sunshine Ruby Ballard Floyd Donnan We will be joined by local rising star Banjo Lucia for a very special performance to round out the evening, from 5.45pm, after which our winners will be announced! On our judging panel this week we have Mat Lewis -a musician himself as well as the brain and heart behind our local Creative Corner and some of the South West’s favourite festivals, including Emergence Creative Festival and String Attached: The West Australian Guitar Festival. Joining Mat on the judging panel will be local musician and visual artist Emjay Angeni who has a number of performances, festivals and tours under her belt as a solo artist, as well as with her partner Dan White in the acts Blue Child Collective and Moon & Honey -the latter of whom will be opening Good Day Sunshine Festival in Busselton later this month. Lastly our special Guest Banjo Lucia; who is in her last year of highschool and already playing festivals and sellout shows -wowing audiences with her evocative, mature performances and charming on-stage manner. PLEASE NOTE: The Grand Final is a ticketed event -tickets are $10 each. Each contestant and one parent/guardian receive complimentary entry. We are spoilt by natural beauty and enjoy a largely uninterrupted coastline... all of that is set to change if the scheduled development goes ahead as planned above Gnarabup Beach and Boatramp. The paddle out on Saturday showed how much the community values our natural wealth also so for now all the jiggly bits are crossed that this show of solidarity transfers to a development rethink. We've got some new trading hours to coincide with back to school ... we were super fortunate to have some past staff return to help us boost hours over the hols, so for now we return to our day only trade Mon- Wed, pick up an extra eve on Thurs and continue kicking goals late into the eve Fri- Sun. ...
