24.01.2022 The Infection Control Officer for Mallee Track attended the Shed today and the necessary items for health and safety delivered and put in place as was relevant signage regarding Covid -19. We were expecting to be in a position to re-open early next week if all the paper works is done and completed. HOWEVER - there has been an issue raised by one of the Members this evening regarding the Rules of Engagement regarding the return to the Shed. The issue relates to the downloadi...ng of the Covid - 19 App. This issue has been referred back to Mallee Track for clarification and consideration for amendment. I would suggest that until that issue is resolved that the re-opening will be further delayed until a practical suitable resolution is found and implemented. I will advise the outcome when it is known Regards Geoff McGuigan Acting Secretary.

22.01.2022 Message from the President that members should forward annual membership fees to Tom Elliott asap please.

We need to be vigilant as individuals and as a responsible group in complying with measures to maintain health and reduce the risk of infection, Hopefully we will re open in the next week or so.

20.01.2022 The recent meeting conducted at Mallee Track Health and Community Service established that the Victorian Government State of Emergency was still in place and is to continue until June 1st 2020. With this in mind under the current Covid - 19 crisis it was decided that we must still comply with the restrictions imposed by the State of Emergency and as such the Shed will remain closed until after June 1st when the State of Emergency may be withdrawn or other lessening of the restrictions may permit the shed to re-open. Any further decision as to the likelihood of the shed re-opening will be transmitted by advice here when I have been informed. Thanks for your co-operation and understanding cheers Geoff Mac.

19.01.2022 Update re shed opening. The SLMS remains closed until further advice.

18.01.2022 Good morning one and all - a note to advise that the expected re-opening of the SLMS has been delayed due to the sudden rise in Covid infections in Victoria and Mallee Track are re-assessing the recently amended regulations as laid down by the state Government. I expect advice on Thursday this week as to whether we open next Monday 29 June or not. We have most of the requirements in place at the Shed and sanitizer has been provided and fitted to various locations within the... complex as well as advisory signage etc. There will be some administrative issues to deal with on the re-opening and acknowledgment of the the rules is necessary to be adopted by all members attending. We will hold a short meeting of members to explain how we will be operating and the issues we all need to address as to hygiene and safety for all. As soon as we have the advice I will let you know. Stay safe Cheers Geoff Mac Acting Secretary See more

13.01.2022 Hello Thrill Seekers: Covid - 19 lock down update. This morning Colin and I had a meeting with Mallee Track at the shed and formulated the structure for the "Rules of Engagement" with regard to re-opening the Sea Lake Men's Shed. As you are all aware the virus threat is and remains a dangerous threat to the health and safety of all Australians and in particular our wonderful remote small community. Resources such as Hand Sanitizer and detergents and other necessary items ...will be provided us by Mallee Track Community Health and will be put in place prior to the shed opening. I ask you again to remain patient and give this time to be established so we can have a safe environment in future. With the "Rules of Engagement" there will be some additional processes and rules to ensure us the safest possible shed. We hope the process of readying the shed for us is done in a timely manner and I will advise members as soon as we have the shed ready for you all to re-attend. All the best stay safe Geoff Mac.
