25.01.2022 They are here!! Yellowtail Kingfish have turned up along the coast, with a number caught off Devonport in the past couple of days. Go-to lures are divers like Rapala, Halco and Yozuri in the 11 - 14cm range which represent the mackerel and garfish that the kings are feeding on. Best locations are those with weeds beds, similar to where calamari are found and make sure your speed is up over 6 knots

24.01.2022 Our thoughts are with those who are assisting in the rescue efforts of the stranded whales on Tasmania’s west coast. Thank you to Petuna for supporting the whale emergency at Macquarie Heads in Strahan. Such devastating scenes.

22.01.2022 Polyform inflatable floats and fenders are used globally by fishermen to mark their gear and protect their vessels. The Norwegian-made floats are the highest quality available, which is why Seamaster stocks a large range of standard A-series and drag resistant, High-Liner floats in our stores, when only the best will do for our customers.

20.01.2022 Due to positive oyster growth through local growing regions on the Eyre Peninsula in the first quarter of 2020, our Seamaster store in Port Lincoln currently has a waitlist on Hexcyl oyster baskets. The 25 litre baskets offer a durable and versatile product for farming oysters, scallops and other molluscs in the marine environment. Available in five different mesh sizes, Hexcyl baskets are designed to withstand rough conditions while promoting optimal stock growth and conditi...oning. They are larger than most other baskets on the market, offering greater growing surface area, reducing baskets per hectare, saving capital cost and handling time. Australian designed and made. In addition, our HDPE oyster mesh is a hard-wearing and proven mesh for use in marine and on-land applications. UV stable and supplied in 30m rolls in five mesh sizes. Hexcyl products are also available from our Devonport and Goodwood stores in Tasmania. Get your orders in to avoid delays. See more

He is keen to show you all his secrets and answer questions relating to light tackle sport fishing. Not only will Jarvis and Glen be onsite, but many other seasoned fishermen, including many from the commercial sector.

17.01.2022 With plenty of tuna biting in Victoria, Tasmania, NSW and the South East of South Australia, we wanted to share the National Survey of Recreational Fishing for Southern Bluefin Tuna (SBT) that our stars, Jamie and Dan, from Seamaster Port Lincoln, contributed to. In this 141 page report, youll gain an insight in to the SBT release rates across private and charter boats, catch and effort estimations and the trends in fishing effort, fish availability and fishery quality, jus...t to name a few. For those not sure where to get a guarantee catch of SBT, well let you in on a secret, the report says: Tuna fishing effort was heavily concentrated in the waters adjacent to the Tasman Peninsula in southeast Tasmania. The lower East Coast, mid-East Coast, South Coast and Pedra Branca were also important areas for tuna fishing, with effort dropping away in the remote South West of Tasmania. There was limited fishing effort on the mid-West Coast originating from Strahan, negligible effort on the North West Coast, and there was no tuna fishing reported on North or far-North East coastlines. Read the results here: https://imas.utas.edu.au//National-Survey-of-Rec-Fishing-f Did we mention we stock all the tuna fishing gear that youll need to hook one of these big beauties?!
