25.01.2022 Wonderful Pattern making! So gorgeous

25.01.2022 As suspected all the extra stitching was to cover holes in the lining! Luckily for my client the dress needed to be taken up at the bodice and I could trim of all the holes. I cut a new piece of binding for the back near the eye and gave the dress a much neater finish! The dress had stitched horizontal pleats that all needed to be unpicked to get to the side seam to be taken in and restitched back What a day a seemingly simple alteration took 8 hours to fix. Such is the life of a pedantic seamstres

Also not to sure what the stitching to the left of the eye is all about. The magnifying glass will have to come out!!! Sometimes things can end up quite complicated ... It’s just gotta be right! I photographed Bree as a newborn on her mummy's gorgeous wedding dress just o...ver two and a half years ago and I had to do it again for her little sister Astrid. This dress was not only the dress my sister wore when she married the love of her life and I had the honour to stand beside her as her maid of honor but it also brought such a wonderful lady into our lives, Terri from Professionally Fitted Alterations. 08.01.2022 Beautiful Laura is looking absolutely gorgeous in these amazing photos taken by Dani Drury photography.. Laura’s gown need quite a few alterations. It was too long in the bodice and Ill fitting across the bust. The lace needed to be unpicked so I could sew in several extra darts and then carefully overlaid again to move bust point. The fine tulle binding around the neckline was also unpicked to take up the shoulder. The hems were taken up and that gave me enough extra lace ...to raise the center back to hide Laura’s bra, and it was fastened with buttons and loops to give interest. The back of the gown at the zip was too large and I wanted it to fit nicely, so I removed the zip and took it in. A bustle was also added to Lauras beautiful gown. It was such a pleasure to work with Laura she’s such a sweetie. Congratulations Laura You were a Stunning bride.

07.01.2022 Keeping busy that’s the way! I’m so excited to be so busy again since the Covid restrictions have been lifted. So many brides have been able to keep their wedding dates. Formal girls also have the go ahead for their evenings. My studio has now 21 gowns in it. ... Satin, lace, heavy beaded gowns and to make my day even a gown with delicate feathers.
