20.01.2022 A big happy birthday for yesterday to my great mate and our Run for Wishes Project Manager @maxreilly Maxy has always been there to support me through my running events, even coming to Bali with me for the @balihopeultra in 2019. Im incredibly grateful that he has committed to support me in my upcoming run around Australia! One day Im looking forward to being in the support crew for him All of us at Run for Wishes hope you had an awesome day legend
19.01.2022 With the 1 hour exercise limit my training has changed to include more strength work and more high intensity runs - tempo & intervals sessions. Ive enjoyed the change up and looked at the lockdown as an opportunity to get stronger. Im not always motivated to train - some days have been a lot harder than others. Its my goals that have kept me going and I know when I do it gives me the energy and mindset that I need at this tough time. Remember that action always bre...eds motivation not the other way around. When you start the task that you dont want to do, you become inspired to keep going. If youre struggling with motivation at the moment, know that youre not alone! Just take that first step and get started Then when you do complete that task youve been putting off, give yourself a pat on the back and celebrate your little win. Celebrating the journey is essential to happiness. I just PBd my deadlift 6RM & 1RM and its made my day- as you can tell by the cheeky fist pump at the end Wishing you all a beautiful Saturday See more

19.01.2022 LUNGES! Lunges are always in my strength program, helping me keep my glutes and quads strong. I cant recommend them high enough for all runners. They will increase your hip stability as well as your running performance, by increasing your strength. The 3 exercise variations I did today:... -Step back lunges with knee drive -Step forward lunges -Step back lunges I did 4 sets of each exercise x 6 reps on each leg. TIPS WITH LUNGES: - Keep your chest up tall, shoulders back and core engaged - Maintain a hip width distance when stepping back or forward - Keep your knee in line with your second toe - Drop your back knee down, aiming to bend at least 90 degrees. If lunges are new for you, ease into the movement and train bodyweight before adding weights. After running 29kms yesterday & these legs weights today, my body has responded well and Im looking forward to hill sprints tomorrow as I build for my @runforwishes___ See more

18.01.2022 It is with mixed feelings that I share that our @runforwishes___ Run Around Australia is now postponed until the end of February, 2022. Due to the ongoing uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic, it was a decision Maxy and I felt that we had to make. Community is at the core of why I do what I do & why we want to do this. We want certainty in knowing that when we do this event people can come together and we can make a big difference. ... I have been building towards this Run Around Australia since the end of 2017 and Ive always had my sights set on 2021. Sometimes things just dont go to plan and things happen that we cant control. The one thing that we do have total control over is how we react. I am choosing to be positive and to view it is an opportunity to get stronger physically and mentally. While it means more to me than just a run, there are people whos lives have been affected far more than mine by COVID-19. I send sincere love and prayers to all of those people and their families Next year we will be doing multiple events throughout Victoria as part of our @runforwishes___ campaign to raise money and awareness for @makeawishaust. These will be trial runs- eg. 4-7 day runs where I will run 60-70kms a day with the support of my crew, to mimic the conditions we will face in 2022. Lastly, I want to express deep gratitude for everyone that has supported me with my running. People dont see the tireless work & help my coaches, mentors, physios, nutritionist & of course my Run for Wishes team give me behind the scenes. This is a big team effort #runforwishes2022 #runaroundaustralia #makeawish See more
17.01.2022 5pm Tomorrow night . Sean and Max will be going live here on the Run for Wishes Facebook page to chat about how the project is coming along and how you can get involved! They will also be talking to Renee from Make-A-Wish Australia, who will share how the funds raised through this journey will help change kids lives . . We were hoping to have an in person information night but obviously that is not possible at the current time due to COVID-19.... . There are many opportunities for you to get involved, such as a support crew member for the big run, or as a logistics team member; helping map out the route and other logistics . . Whilst Sean is the runner, this is a team effort. Projects of this nature wouldnt be possible without the generosity of volunteers . . Please jump on at 5pm tomorrow night. We look forward to answering any questions that you have then! See more
17.01.2022 The first look at the two main representatives of Run For Wishes! . Sean Bell the runner and Max Reilly the Project Manager. . Max will be joining Sean for the entirety of his run around Australia next year! He will be the person that will help coordinate the run, including organising volunteer support crew coming in and out so that Sean can focus on running distances of up to 60kms a day for 8 months. ... . Max and Sean have a special friendship that developed years ago when playing football together for the Vermont Eagles Junior Football Club. . Max has been an incredible friend and support crew member of Sean, helping him in his Bali Hope Ultra and 24 hour run last year, and now joining him for his biggest feat yet! . Max- Im super excited to be assisting Seany on this project. It will be great to experience Australia with him and help him in whatever way I can so that he can focus on his running and recovery. It will no doubt be a challenging but rewarding experience." See more
16.01.2022 Cries at home to go for a run at the oval but when you take her she runs one lap and then sits in the interchange bench #runforwishes
16.01.2022 23 days straight of diving into my 9 degree pool . . This is my new daily routine to help me become stronger minded as I prepare for my biggest challenge yet. I am committed to doing this for the next 248 days until my 14,000km Run around Australia . . This past month Ive only been doing 2 run sessions a week- my long run and my recovery run, & other than that 2 pool running sessions. This has put me well outside of my comfort zone and Im missing my hill sprints and te...mpo sessions that Im so used to!. . The benefits of deep water running are that it decreases the stress on your bones, muscles and joints by up to 90%, while still stressing the cardiovascular system . . Im trusting my coach Jase Cronshaw V&B Athletic and while Im missing my normal sessions, Im feeling stronger for changing up my training and running like this.. . Diving in the pool every day, and running in it for half an hour 2 times a week is tough because it is freezing and uncomfortable, but running around Australia will be a lot tougher! . . There were days through my 50 marathons in 50 days where I was uncomfortable & didnt want to keep running, but I had to dig deep, remember my WHY and keep going. I know Ill have those days next year and so this is one little thing Im doing to help me stay focussed, driven and uncomfortable. . What are you doing currently thats making you uncomfortable to help you grow? #runforwishes See more
16.01.2022 Unreal views this morning with some great mates! 20kms up and down the mountains in the Dandenong Ranges while watching the sun rise . . . Back into it and feeling so strong leading into our first run for wishes trial run in early August #runforwishes
13.01.2022 Its been one week since my #balihopechallenge 24 hour run . . . Its awesome to be feeling so healthy and strong post such a big run & it is a complete contrast to how I pulled up after last year! . . . It was refreshing to have the week off last week to sleep a lot and put the feet up, but now Im getting back into it as I build towards my Run For Wishes run around Australia next year! I am looking at having my first trial run in a few months; running 65kms a... day for 4 days straight and sleeping in the caravan with my support crew, to mimic the conditions we will experience next year . . . Feeling blessed to be coached by @coachcronshaw from @vandbathletic in these times, helping me transition back into it safely See more
13.01.2022 You can’t wipe this smile off my face. A huge PB this morning on the Dandenong Creek Trail. Throughout ISO I’ve been working hard on my strength training, core work and speed work and today it all came together Just one happy man ... @runforwishes___ #makeawish #runforwishes See more
13.01.2022 Anzac Day Longy . - 33kms . Its often only on days like this where we all truly take time to reflect and remember how precious our life is and how every day is a gift. . So many people have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice their lives, to give us the freedom we have today.... . On my run I listened to one of the best podcasts I have ever heard- Nick Butter (Running The World 196) on the Rich Roll podcast Nicks story was truly amazing- he is the only person to have run a marathon in every country in the world!! He raised significant money and awareness for Prostate Cancer research after his friend was diagnosed as terminal and it changed his life. . I resonated with him so much because in many ways our stories are so similar. I lost my friend that I loved and he nearly lost his. We both share the same core message and life purpose; we have to chase our dreams now because we never know what could be our last day. . I am prepared to do whatever it takes to make our Run for Wishes happen. Nick put everything on the line to make his dream happen; he went through incredible highs and lows and yet he wouldnt change a thing. I cant wait for my big run to make the wishes of children diagnosed with a critical illness come true Make-A-Wish Australia . See more
12.01.2022 Running into another week! Another week of training down and just 35 weeks until our run around Australia begins! @makeawishaust #runforwishes

08.01.2022 I am a drowned rat! . . 35kms in the bank this morning and my body is feeling amazing . . Its been 9 months since I have had a serious running event or race & while Ive missed it, Ive found so much joy in the little things such as running with new people & listening to more podcasts. This time away from events has enabled me to learn more about running and everything involved such as ideal technique, the importance of stretching & regular treatment/massage. Ive sp...ent a lot of time breaking a habit that was so engrained into my system and relearning how to run with better form. It surprises a lot of people when I tell them that the way I was running when I ran my 50 marathons in 50 days was very injury prone & not efficient. Prior to August last year, I had never been coached on technique & it reminded me that we can always improve and grow, no matter how strong we may be at something. . . My long run every weekend in rain, hail or shine brings me purpose & happiness & helps me remain accountable to my goals. . . There is something big around the corner & I cant wait to share more soon!! See more
07.01.2022 MEET MANI! . . Mani is a Logistics team member of Run for Wishes. He brings Logistics, Event Management skills and experience to our team. . He has Professional Project Management experience along with Sport Management credentials.... . He is a passionate community sports person, (Australian Rules & triathlon events) & shares a love for long distance running, having completed his first ever marathon in Chicago, USA in 2019. . Thus when he came in contact with Sean, he immediately expressed his willingness to support his next running venture. Amazingly it turned out to be running around Australia for Run for Wishes! #runforwishes See more
06.01.2022 Im thrilled to share that we now have two new team members on our team! @manisrmk & Zac are helping us with the logistical elements of the run around Australia. An event of this nature wouldnt be possible without the help of others and so we are incredibly grateful to have Mani & Zac by our side . . This Sunday at 5pm Sean & Max will be doing another LIVE video all about SUPPORT CREW. If you would like to be involved as a support crew member next year- then please tune in at 5pm. We will answer all the questions we have already received around support crew as well as any questions that you have for us both in live time

04.01.2022 A little throw back to my very first marathon! The Melbourne marathon in 2017 I can still vividly remember the 38km mark on the hill at the tan track... my calves are cramping, Im feeling dizzy... Im starting to stumble and Im wondering if my body is going to hold up. I am so close and all I want to do is finish. A friendly runner puts his hand on my back and starts pushing me up the hill. He says you have got this mate! Then a lovely lady hands me a couple of z...ooper doopers... I slur thank you to her, smash them down and I push on. Im caught up in the euphoria. The next 4kms fly by and all of a sudden there is just 300m to go as I run onto the MCG. Im crying and I have a smile that could not be wiped off my face. I fist pump over the line and I get it done! Sometimes a run can not only change how we feel, but it can change our direction in life. None of the running events I have since completed; some of the most fulfilling moments of my life wouldve happened if those 2 strangers didnt help me when I needed it most. Lets support, love and help each other right now. Our family. Our friends. Strangers. A hand on the back, a couple of zooper doopers, a random act of kindness or even a compliment through a mask could make the world of difference #runforwishes #running #firstmarathon #first42k #makeawish See more
