24.01.2022 Australia Post and Traditional Place Names: During NAIDOC Week last week, Australia Post announced that it supports use of traditional place names in postal addresses,after a campaign by an Aboriginal woman. 21.01.2022 The Mission Australia report https://www.missionaustralia.com.au//research/youth-survey shown below is a sobering reminder of how our young people are feeling in 2020. They are concerned about bullying, racism and concerns that are affecting their mental health. Though we all saw acts of kindness and community spirit at the beginning of the COVID lockdown, reactions seem to have become more introverted as time has elapsed. It may be time to ask students to look outside themselves and think of the lives of others that may be worse than their own, and begin to engage in some community kindness, and looking through the eyes of others all of which help to build resilience. The end of the school year could be a good time for class discussion about collective and collaborative acts of citizenship.

Candidates are not allowed to enter polling places, except in order to vote. They are also not permitted to observe the counting of votes (the scrutiny) for elections in which they are candidates. They have the right, however, to appoint scrutineers to represent them during the polling and throughout the various stages of counting ballot papers.

It celebrates students who show compassion, integrity and kindness in their everyday lives, just as Fred did, and there is only one winner per state (see example below). There are many charitable and environmental organisations to support i...n Australia, but there is a current emphasis in education that considers Global Citizenship. This sounds fair, but that person may have only 30% of the votes, whereas the Australian preferential system requires that the winner receives 50 % after distribution of preferences.
