25.01.2022 Whilst we celebrate and welcome the journey back to being the new Covid normal the data affirms what we know; that the last few months have been tough for Angle...sea and our region. As we live with that legacy there is a confidential helping hand available for anyone. Private message or email [email protected] See more

25.01.2022 Due to the extreme fire danger rating tomorrow (30th December) Seaside Seconds will not open.

24.01.2022 Need a bit of colour to brighten your day?

24.01.2022 Thank you for your patience in queuing today as we reached our Covid safe capacity... Big thank you to staff and volunteers for continuing to keep us arguably just the best Opshop!

24.01.2022 Welcome! In the busy-ness of life you are invited to take the time to rest, to be still and relax and to restore your spirit in the newly created space in the book room

24.01.2022 Op Shop Treasure Moves On This week we were saddened to lose one of our most treasured volunteers, Phyllis, who passed away peacefully on Monday. Phyllis had lived in Anglesea for over fifty years and was part of the very first Op Shop as well as being a very active member of the community. We will miss her cheery face on Friday mornings.

23.01.2022 It is very encouraging that our community wants to reach out to one another during the current emergency situation. Who needs support? Many might be experiencin...g anxiety or isolation, regardless of age. How can we help? Check in with one another, ask are you ok? We each have neighbours around us; ring, knock on a door or leave a message (like the picture, message me for document to print) that says you care. Let people know that there are now many local delivery services, just ring and ask. Offer help with gentleness, respecting privacy and following the health department guidelines. Many of those living alone are resilient and resourceful. Refer to an appropriate professional or service if you have any concern or if you just need to talk it through. There are resources available to meet specific local needs. See more

22.01.2022 Anglesea Jigsaw Puzzle The jigsaw pieces that make our community puzzle might have a new pattern; those with jobs or jobkeeper and those without, those with an ...increase in government support and those without, those with school children at home and those without, those crying in isolation and those thriving, those welcoming visitor business and those not, those whove lost the company of their family and those who have regained it so name a few. Each may bring challenges as we start to put the jigsaw pieces back together again. With patience and love for one another we can come together again making a new puzzle with the same picture. If you need a helping hand to fit back into the jigsaw puzzle of life, support is available. Message or phone Michael (0435 661 700). See more

16.01.2022 Seaside Seconds is proud to be a sponsor of the new Anglesea Streetscape artwork and will be projecting the story of the artwork onto the front wall of the shop during the celebration. Enjoy a wander along the street taking in the art works and stop to watch the story

16.01.2022 This Sunday we begin a new teaching series Cries of the Soul in which look to the Psalms to give us words when we want to cry out to God but simply don't know what to say. We begin with "out of the depths...."

06.01.2022 Can you help please? Looking for a second-hand family fridge/freezer.

05.01.2022 I know lots of Victorians have used this time to get to those odd jobs around the house. And theres something very satisfying about doing a big drop at the op-...shop and being able to admire your newly cleaned and sorted wardrobe. But despite some op-shops reopening, many are still closed or not accepting new donations right now. That means when you try to donate goods, theyre actually ending up in landfill creating more rubbish and forcing charities to foot the bill. Op-shops should never be dumping grounds for broken or dirty things, and donations should never be left outside business hours. Its unhygienic, its time consuming and its dangerous for the people who work and volunteer there. So before you head out, call ahead or check online to make sure the shop youre visiting can accept your items. And remember its only a donation if it makes it to the shelf.

04.01.2022 Whilst we are very thankful to be able to enjoy a relaxing in the physical distancing restrictions there are many challenges that remain in the months ahead. Ou...r community are ready with a helping hand with food and finance to keep you going. If you or someone you know needs a hand up dont hesitate to let us know. See more

04.01.2022 Seaside Seconds will be closed on Boxing Day (Thursday) and reopen on Friday (27th). We look forward to welcoming you to browse for a bargain (cash only) or simply find space to be still in the welcome room.

03.01.2022 Were better together!

03.01.2022 Seaside Seconds is very happy to say that weve distanced, disinfected and dusted down and are ready to serve the community. We are now open Monday and Friday between 10 and 2 but not yet accepting donations. A huge thank you to all who volunteered in cleaning, tidying, refreshing the shop, culling, sorting, washing windows, taking work home, book-keeping, sign-making, job-keeping, steering the journey and most importantly praying to get us here.

02.01.2022 Making masks at Seaside Seconds from leggings. $1 each or come and buy some leggings and make your own.

02.01.2022 Love Anglesea! The Corona virus is bringing the best of the Anglesea vibe out as we, as a community, seek to reach out to one another with offers of love thro...ugh care packages, pizzas, meals, offers of transport and lots of other expressions of love. To help us be better together at doing this it has been suggested that some kind of coordination role is needed, I believe, if you are willing to trust me, that we can help to get the ball rolling to see us through the winter ahead. How you can help? Donate a meal A number of cafes and restaurants have offered to pay a donated meal forward. This means if you are ordering a meal you can also order and pay for a meal for someone else. The restaurant or we can then help in passing on the meal to someone else. We could call it a WAL (With Angleseas Love) so you order two meals for yourself you might add for WAL! A donated single meal can be added with other single meal donations to make up a meal for a family. Those participating so far; Anglesea Pizza (who are matching your donation), Offshore Catering, and The Coast. We will try to provide an ongoing list as others join. Donate non-perishable food or personal care items We can receive these at the community space next to Seaside Seconds and pass them on to either the care packages being made for the elderly, Foodlink (or drop at the IGA) or well add them to the meals. Donate Money Anglesea Baptist, through Seaside Seconds, has been providing informal welfare and pastoral support to our community for many years. This includes limited financial support that we anticipate will increase as the bills in. You can donate money to help us support others directly through our website (https://tinyurl.com/LoveAnglesea) via PayPal or credit card and receive a confirmation of your donation. All donations received will only be used for welfare support. Tell us how we can help you or someone you know Are you or someone you know or are caring for in need of a gift of love? You can ask or give directly (plenty of delivery free options in) or you can nominate them remembering that it might be challenging for the person being asked to acknowledge their need and then to receive it. Equally so, there will be some who like to give but prefer no-one else to know. it is really important we respect privacy. We can help by confidentially matching the gifts of love with those receiving and also be able to offer any additional support. Email [email protected] or call me directly 0435 661 700, All conversations are confidential. See more
