25.01.2022 When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.

24.01.2022 Working in the funeral industry can be really tough. We often shed tears back in the office for our families. For your loved one. It's not really "just" a job for us. It's a calling. We'll always work hard to give you our full support and help you through this incredibly difficult time as best we can. <3

24.01.2022 People have so many different attitudes towards our business. We do deal with death, after all. But most people, and certainly our team at Seasons, really do believe we can make a huge difference during what is often the most difficult experience of a family member's life. We're not just looking after the person who has passed away: we are caring for the whole family. Steve's daughter and Seasons Funeral Planner, Kate Erceg, really illustrates this as she shares "the real sense of pride you get from helping assist a family through a difficult time."

23.01.2022 Isn't the weather here in Perth spectacular at the moment?! We've got some lovely Spring self care tips for you below. <3

20.01.2022 A eulogy tells the story of the life that has been lived, and what that life meant to others, including family, friends, work colleagues and acquaintances. It is the recollection of the characteristics and traits, that made this person, them. It's a great honour to be asked to write a loved one's eulogy... but it can also be a great deal of pressure! Where do you start? What is the protocol? How do you put into words just how special this person was to you and everyone who loved them? Our blog post may help...

19.01.2022 It's been 2.5 years since our founder and Managing Director, Steve Erceg, and his wife Joyce took a road trip across the Nullabor... in a hearse!

18.01.2022 "There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief... and unspeakable love." - Washington Irvine

18.01.2022 *FUNERAL FACT* Henry VIII's funeral procession was four miles long, with more than a thousand men on horseback and hundreds more on foot!

16.01.2022 A new year can be an opportunity to start a new chapter, but it can also be very challenging for those who have lost a loved one in the preceding 12 months. If you are struggling, please don't do it alone. We have a list of 24/7 helplines, general support organisation and online support groups here: https://buff.ly/2WiCv8S

16.01.2022 Happy Father's Day to every kind of Dad out there! We hope you all have a great day. Father's Day can be difficult for many people. If you know someone who has lost their Dad or maybe a child, reach out to them, give them a hug and be the listening ear or sense of warmth that they may be particularly missing on this day.

16.01.2022 It's the second Seasons birthday of the week! Happy Birthday to our fab Funeral Director Assistant, HAYLEY! Wishing you a wonderful day.

16.01.2022 We love to share our team members' stories because we really want people to have an understanding of why they joined Seasons and why they wanted to be a part of the funeral industry. This is not an industry for everyone. You have to possess something special inside to let you give your everything to other people, day in, day out. Josh came to us from a retail background. He really wanted to make a difference in the funeral industry and in the two years at Seasons he has done ...just that. Josh does so much that is above and beyond and he is always there to do that little bit extra, which in a family business like Seasons is always appreciated. It's that quality that we think really makes a difference to our families. Here's Josh about really putting your heart into it... https://www.facebook.com/288097284622936/videos/1479503818815604

16.01.2022 When we conduct a government funded funeral we always ensure that there are four people from our team present to pay their respects and conduct a short service. We do this whether there are friends and family in attendance or not. Here are our team members John Bird and Mark Rukuata in March.

10.01.2022 It's often during the holiday that we miss our loved ones the most. It can be very cathartic to acknowledge this feeling and to actively remember the person you're missing over the holidays, rather than trying to push your feelings down and forget about them. Some ways that you can remember your loved one at Christmas:... 1) Light a candle for them 2) Purchase a gift with your beloved in mind, wrap it and give it to someone less fortunate in memory of your loved one. 3) Make a financial contribution to a cause your beloved would champion, whether in his or her name or anonymously. 4) During a holiday meal with family members and friends, make a special toast in your loved one's memory and/or ask everyone at the table to share their favourite holiday memory of the deceased. 5) If weather and the season permits, plant a tree in honour and memory of your loved one to serve as a living reminder of the love you carry in your heart during the holidays, and all year long, despite your loss.

09.01.2022 We recently helped a family say goodbye to their loved one with a beautiful service Mandoon Estate with 200 people in attendance. At the moment outdoor services do not have restrictions as long as social distancing is maintained. Hopefully this continues. <3

07.01.2022 Did you know that we plant trees on the anniversary of a loved one passing through Carbon Neutral? It's an initiative we've been doing for many years now and it's always great see how our tree planting is helping to impact the environment - as well as memorialising your loved one.

07.01.2022 Happy Birthday to our limo driver, BRENDON! We hope you have a great day (and stay safe on the roads today!) <3

07.01.2022 Today is Dying to Know Day - an annual day of action dedicated to activating conversations and community actions around death, dying and bereavement. We have traditionally held an event on this day but as we all know, 2020 so far isn't showing itself to be an average year. However, there is a huge amount of resources and online events on the The GroundSwell Project website and we recommend you take a look if you're interested.

06.01.2022 COVID-19 has been challenging for so many people - even though in WA we have so far been incredibly lucky. But for those who lost loved ones during this time, it's been especially difficult. Having to deal with the inability to travel, restricted group numbers and social distancing whilst dealing with grief. We've been doing our very best to help our families in such unprecedented times. Fingers crossed the situation in WA continues to improve and the rest of the world can follow.

03.01.2022 Time for me to go now, I won’t say goodbye; Look for me in rainbows, way up in the sky. In the morning sunrise when all the world is new, Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you.... Time for me to leave you, I won’t say goodbye; Look for me in rainbows, high up in the sky. In the evening sunset, when all the world is through, Just look for me and love me, and I’ll be close to you. It won’t be forever, the day will come and then My loving arms will hold you, when we meet again. Time for us to part now, we won’t say goodbye; Look for me in rainbows, shining in the sky. Every waking moment, and all your whole life through Just look for me and love me, as you know I loved you. Just wish me to be near you, And I’ll be there with you. - Music and Lyrics by Conn Bernard

03.01.2022 Many of us find it hard to think about their own mortality, but it is so important for everyone to have proper estate planning measures in place. A good little article from The West Australian.

03.01.2022 Fleetwood Mac founding guitarist Peter Green has died aged 73.

02.01.2022 There's no "right" way to grieve. You need to go with what works for you. (That said, sometimes its useful to talk to someone independent, or get some professional help. You can find a list of 24/7 helplines, general support organisation and online support groups here: https://seasons.com.au/support/)

01.01.2022 Being "stuck" in traffic behind a hearse can be frustrating, but its always worth taking a moment to remember why that hearse is there in the first place, and to think about the family members in the car behind. Luckily we find that most people are very patient and respectful, but this is still a good read. https://pastorcindym.wordpress.com//07/11/stopping-traffic/
