25.01.2022 To all our fabulous families - if you are sorting your children’s clothes, and you have any spares....

25.01.2022 Bad news... the power will now be out until 3pm! Everything is fine in the service, however we have no phones and no access to emails, so if you have been trying to get in touch, please don't be worried! - Jodie

25.01.2022 Have a fun, safe long weekend everyone! And remember to turn your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night! - Jodie

24.01.2022 Hi everyone, we currently have no power - everything is fine, but it means we have no phones! We apologise for any inconvenience, we have been told everything will be back to normal about 1pm. Happy Monday, thanks Carrie

20.01.2022 Looking at a child through a strength based lense can change the way you see them. Food for thought - Carrie

20.01.2022 Today was Indigenous Literacy Day! We were happy to recognise this day to raise awareness in our community and read Indigenous story books to our children at Seaton Community Children’s Centre. All children across Australia should have the same choices and opportunities with books. The Indigenous Literacy Foundation have gifted more than 500,000 new books to over 400 remote Indigenous communities.... Our donation of purchasing the stories pictured below from the Indigenous Literacy Foundation helps provide books and literacy programs to remote communities where they are needed most. Being able to read opens so many doors, but in very remote Indigenous communities, books are all too scarce and literacy levels are so much lower than anywhere else in Australia. The purpose is to make a difference to the lives of Indigenous families by not only gifting thousands of new culturally appropriate books with a focus on early literacy and first language - but also by running programs to inspire the communities to tell and publish their own stories. Indigenous Literacy Foundation held a national, virtual Youtube Live Premiere event at 12.30pm on Wednesday 2 September for a celebration of Indigenous language and literacy. You can still access the Youtube video at: https://www.indigenousliteracyfoundation.org.au//what-are- In previous years, this celebration has taken place at Sydney Opera House with children from remote communities, local schools, ILF ambassadors and supporters all attending in person. This year, due to COVID-19, it is open for the first time to everyone Australia-wide! - Pauline and Jodie :-)

18.01.2022 Bunnings CANCELLED TODAY Please note - our Bunnings BBQ today has been cancelled. Due to the weather and the new system they now have to follow, Bunnings have cancelled the BBQ for safety reasons. If anyone was planning to come down to say hi or help out - we won't be there!... Of course, that now means that we have 70kgs of sausages and many loaves of bread that we won't be able to use - so if you would like to buy any from us and help us with a little fundraising, please let us know! You can speak to us at the service or message us through this page. Thank you!

17.01.2022 Final update - power is back on!

15.01.2022 Curious Creatures, Wild Minds is the theme for Book Week 2020. Today the children read "Where's my Teddy?" by Jez Alborough - Eddy lost his teddy, Freddy. So off he goes to the wood to find him. But the wood is dark and horrible and little Eddy is in for a gigantic surprise! As you can see the children came together today to listen to Sandy reading "Where's my Teddy?" - the joy of listening to stories and being taken to other places through reading is why we engage in Book W...eek. The service has had lots of special visitors today with all kinds of teddies come along for the day and joining in on the Teddy Bear's picnic for lunch. Have a look in the children's rooms for more photos of the adventures form today.... Enjoy, Carrie

09.01.2022 It’s Book Week next week - have a chat with the team about how we are acknowledging it in the service. We are planning a Teddy Bear picnic Tuesday, so bring along your favourite teddy and join in Have a great night- Carrie

07.01.2022 Our Kindy children had another opportunity to go over to Seaton High School this morning to participate in some fun activities with the High School students and make some community connections. Seaton High students created some fun experiences which encouraged the children to practice their developing motor skills - and the children had a wonderful time! We're looking forward to doing it all again next time! ... - Jodie

03.01.2022 It's never 'just' play. - Jodie
