21.01.2022 Our community elders have seen many things throughout their lives, it is a privilege when they share these memories and stories with us. On today, Remembrance Day 2020, Rosebrook resident Isabel wanted to share with us her time in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force (W.A.A.F).

20.01.2022 Every Wednesday, the Cornerstone Christian Church Alexandra Hills provides us with a personalised online service. Thank you Bruce and David for nurturing our spiritual well-being. We appreciate you.

18.01.2022 LEST WE FORGET - REMEMBRANCE DAY 11.11.2020 At 11am on 11 November 1918 the guns on the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare. The moment when hostilities ceased on the Western Front became universally associated with the remembrance of those who had died in the war. This conflict had brought about the mobilisation of over 70 million people and left between 9 and 13 million dead, perhaps as many as one-third of them with no known grave. A...t the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, all McKenzie Aged Care homes and offices will observe one minute’s silence, in memory of those who served and continue to serve protecting our country. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. Lest we forget.

08.01.2022 Today is R U OK?Day a day that aims to inspire everyday conversations about mental health. A day when we are reminded to check-in with our friends, family, colleagues, and even ourselves. This year is one that has presented everybody with extraordinary circumstances. Restrictions and lockdowns across the country, caused by the coronavirus pandemic, has thrown up challenges that many Australians are struggling to cope with. Isolation, empty workplaces, home confinement and h...ealth fears for our families and self has caused mental health issues to soar to new levels. Staying connected to one another has never been more important. In many instances, we may not be able to meet in person but we still have phones to stay in touch. So, if you know someone who might be struggling - a friend, family or workmate - please, reach out and ask: R U OK? See more

We are requiring a reliable volunteer to assist with supervision on bus outings and to deliver our internal newsletter to our residents, on Friday’s from 9am to 3pm. On the bus trips, you will engage in conversation with the residents, provide companionship, help to assist residents on and off the bus and push wheelchairs along with helping to serve morning tea or lunch. Once the bus trips are over for the day you will help deliver our weekly ...newsletter to the resident's rooms . Morning tea and lunch will be supplied. Preferably you would have a current police check, but if not we will apply for one for you. If you are looking to volunteer but Friday’s don’t suit you, we also have other volunteer shifts available. These involve assisting with the running of group activities, serving morning teas and assisting the lifestyle team with general office duties. Please contact the Wendy and the lifestyle team on (07) 3050 9100 if you can help. See more
