25.01.2022 For their second year running, and after careful and wise consideration through their S.E.A.T Project lessons, the Year 5 students of St Luke's Grammar School Bayview Campus researched and contemplated an organisation close to their hearts. They fund-raised via their decorated SEATs and sought donations raising $1000 for Happy Days Cambodian Village School.
22.01.2022 Year 5/6 students Hopetown Special School Wyong NSW completed their SEAT build, investigated bamboo as a sustainable resource, built their own model bamboo homes, researched life in the Solomon Islands, gained an insight into their lifestyle and became interested in helping families & schools. They be-friended a village community in Malaita Province & fund-raised for their new Solomon Island friends including the sale of their own decorated SEATs. Money raised was sent direc...tly to the school (freight can be expensive) where basic needs (chairs, balls, blocks, learning charts)were purchased on home ground. These children from the Solomons are sitting on chairs purchased with the donated money. Sharon Frank (daughter of the Grace Divine School's founder) said that, "this is for the first time these children are sitting on chairs. Some of these kids not even have chairs in their homes. This is a great life changing for them. These children are very happy and ask many questions about Hopetown School. The donations bring a lot of new life experiences for these children. The children, mum and the community send their big thank you to you, your students and Hopetown School for your donations. The children and mum were saying they have nothing to give you return, however, they feel they are connected with you through the beautiful heart your school have for them. May God’s blessing be upon you all. http://seatproject.org/school/hopetown-school-wyong-nsw/
22.01.2022 Hands of Humanity - Students of 5N from Matthew Pearce Primary School in Baulkham Hills reflected on resilience, tolerance and discovered through wise decision making how they can be positive influencers. S.E.A.T Project asks students, "If there is only one message you could leave behind for humanity, what would it be? School Chaplain, Megan Harris, has recorded their responses and the whole process here http://seatproject.org//matthew-pearce-public-school-baul/
20.01.2022 The Hills Grammar School students displayed their SEATs with pride at their SEAT event. This is the third year running for the students to take on the S.E.A.T Project at Hills Grammar! The community bid on the SEATs to raise funds for Orange Sky Australia. The students have raised over $2600.00 from this project so far. They still have a Market Day later in the year that will further contribute to their gift.
18.01.2022 Year 5's of St Luke’s Grammar School Dee Why have led an awesome S.E.A.T Project! Their beautifully decorated SEATs raised well over $1500 at a school community SEAT auction! Strategically planned, raised funds paid for freight to ship Year 6’s SEATs (18 in total) to Little Friends of Michele Montessori Community School in the small rural village of Bwa Leta, Saint Marc, Haiti. After freight, remaining funds were donated to be put to good use within the school community. Students wrote letters to the Haitian children (using google translate!) to explain their process & gifting.
18.01.2022 Year 5 students Matthew Pearce Public School Baulkham Hills NSW decided to offer completed SEATs to make a difference to lives of Australian students in drought affected areas of NSW. Wentworth Public School is a remote school struggling with the drought, so it was lovely to see the smiles on the students faces when they received their SEATs! And up the road (30 mins north by car from Wentworth PS) Palinyewah Public School also received a couple of SEATs (11 students in the entire school!) to make their day! http://seatproject.org//matthew-pearce-public-school-baul/
15.01.2022 Year 4 students of Rosebery Primary School NT began learning about non-profit organisations through their S.E.A.T Project lessons. Whilst they were researching, they diverted to schools and resources available in schools. They auctioned off their decorated SEATs at a school community event and decided to donate money raised to a small village community in the Solomon Islands. Grace Divine School in Malaita Province, was established by Grace Kirimaoma and her husband many yea...rs ago because the little students could not cross the deep river and walk the 2 kilometres to their school. Grace Divine School has no electricity or water except for a mountain stream tap outside which is used for washing, bathing and drinking. The school is far from any town, Grace does not have any teaching resources except for bits of paper and some stubs of crayons, students do not have games or toys. Due to freight being so expensive, the students thought it best to transfer money directly to the school where these basic needs for the students could be purchased locally. See more
13.01.2022 Year 5's St Luke’s Grammar School Dee Why led an awesome S.E.A.T Project this year! They had a huge decision making challenge. Not only did they need to consider the wise outcome of their own S.E.A.T Project, they needed to incorporate the 2018 (current Year 6) project into theirs! Their final decision culminated into a SEAT auction of their own beautifully decorated SEATs which raised well over $1500! These funds allowed them to pay for the freight to ship the Year 6’s SEATs... (18 in total) to the Little Friends of Michele Montessori Community School in a small rural village called Bwa Leta in Saint Marc, Haiti. After freight, remaining funds were donated to Michele Maignan, foundation’s director, to put to good use within the school community. Students wrote letters to Michele & Haitian children (using google translate!) to explain their process & gifting. See more

08.01.2022 For their 3rd year of S.E.A.T Project, students of Coreen School NSW selected a deep enquiry in the communities of The Solomon Islands. Students investigated Ura village with a population of 300 people, 7 kms from Auki town in Malaita Province. 01.01.2022 Ryan Tifandy & Malia - The Hills Grammar School "Our SEAT design for this year was inspired by abstract artist Piet Mondrian, an abstract painter who was regarded as being the best in the 20th century. He was renowned all over the world for his unique painting style, only using primary colours for his art. We named our SEAT ‘Ryb’ after the primary colours red, yellow and blue. The best phase of this project was going over the faded lines with permanent marker. The process of ...doing this was crucial, fun and very satisfying. The results made our SEAT’s design really pop! We are all really satisfied and proud of the overall product that we have created. We hope that our SEAT can sell for a lot, raising lots of money for Orange Sky Laundry. As a result we can help to raise awareness for homeless people and lead them closer to becoming successful in life" See more
