16.01.2022 Got to say i felt a bit teary reading this .. Huge thanks to boomers past and present xx message from one of the boomer founders after reading this ... Dear Val, this is so insanely good! We are starting a blog on the website. Can we put the story up as the first one? If so, can you email a high res photo to go with it? This was just what I needed to receive today. Your work goes so far and beyond what could possibly be measured. And that's the exiting part. Thanks for sharing. So appreciated. Tania
05.01.2022 Today we started creating boomer bears which we will donate to local emergency services to hand to children in distress. These teddies are made out of donated flannelette sheets which we cannot use for boomerang bags. We also assisted with Uniforms 4 all and we helped almost 50 families with uniform ..we altered hems and gave out info on where to find other help on the peninsula We told families about food 4 all and where these services are available. We had one single da...d of 3 in tears as he left as he was so pleased he had got his children clothed ! We took details of families still needing help and we aim to help as many as we can before school resumes. Some people just popped in to donate uniforms . Some where desperate for help . What a fabulous community we live in Thanks goes to all the Seawind boomers and the Mornington Shire and also to Antonella Celi for calling in and being our tea lady .. great job everyone x WE WILL BE HOLDING MORE UNIFORM SWAPS DURING THE NEXT SCHOOL HOLIDAYS .. or if help is really needed please send a pm See more
