24.01.2022 CPEC (Cerebral Palsy Education Centre) CPEC is acknowledged as a world leader in providing specialist education programs for children with cerebral palsy. The CPEC professional staff who work at the Centre in Glen Waverley are renowned internationally as the best in their field.It costs around $19,000 per child per year to receive eight hours of service per week for 40 weeks. CPEC receives nearly $7,200 per child for the year from the State Government. The $12,000 shortfall is offset by the families who pay fees, do fundraising and seek donations. Funds raised are for their babies programs and school childrens education services. CPEC has recently extended their existing building to provide their State Government endorsed education and training courses for teachers and therapists throughout

18.01.2022 Every year we receive used and surplus stock of cricket equipment from Cricket clubs in Victoria Australia. We ship these items worth few over 50.000 dollars worth to school Clubs. This is handled through Lions clubs in Sri Lanka to make sure the goods are distributed to the needy This is our 5 th year in this donation program and hope to continue for many year with the help of generous Australian cricket clubs

17.01.2022 DONATION OF CLOTHING AND FABRIC We were fortunate to receive a huge stock of School Uniforms and Fabrics due to closure of a major supplier in Victoria. We cleared over 12000 finished and semi Finished boys and Girls both summer and Winter clothing.... The ROTARY club of Geelong with whom we have worked closely on many projects, undertook to sort out Clothing as there were summer and Winter garments. Summer Clothing will be Sent to a Lions Project in Sri Lanka to be distributed among Rural schools in the Pollonaruwa District. Winter fabrics will be distributed by the Rotary Club to schools in the Highlands of Papua. Total value of Fabrics and clothing was estimated in excess of $ 200,000 The entire stock was transported from Blackburn to Geelong and the freight cost was $1200.00 This donation was made possible by Mr Nathan Woods partner Dominion Auctions Group in Melbourne who also paid all transport costs. Also a second truck load of Garments and Fabrics was also delivered to Geelong two days later.
15.01.2022 The Grand Receptions (where we have held several lions functions) will be helping the fire fighters and the people of the region affected by the fires ( Morwell... to Mallacoota approximately 200km in East Gippsland Shire) The Grand Van will be made available to take a meal for approximately 200 people and if any one can donate the following ...we could take it with us and distribute... -bottled water -breakfast serials -toilet paper -tissue boxers -toiletries: deodorant,shampoos,sanitary items, toothpaste, toothbrushs, soap -pasta saucers -tomato sauce -snacks: muesli bars,chips,biscuits, lollies, chocolate, sugar , tea,coffee, milo. -UHT milk ( ie, devondale) -Tin goods: peas,corn, carrots,soups All to be delivered to the Grand on Princes 2251 Princes Hwy, Mulgrave by 6pm on Wednesday(8/01/20) for delivery on Thursday early morning. Please pass this around to friends and relatives for donations if possible...

13.01.2022 Assisting Victorian international students during the COVID-19 outbreak This current health crisis is effecting all Australians, however there is very little assistance or hope for students living and studying here. The Lions Club of South East Business is organzing to help put together dry rations for international students studying in Australia, who may be experiencing financial and living difficulties due to job loss and other restrictions. With community assistance, we ha...ve been able to create 100 parcels of food supplies, consisting of 2KG of rice, 1KG of lentils, and canned fish rations, each with an approximate value of $20. These parcels are currently being collected by those students in need. To further assist, we are looking for more generous sponsors who can help create their own similar parcels. After doing so, all that has to be done is to inform the student (phone numbers will be provided), and they will pick them up directly from your doorstep. 12.01.2022 Our Club collected a truck full of cricket gear and will be shipping to Sri Lanka soon.to be distributed among poor schools in Sri Lanka. These goods were donated by Mr Luke Serong of Cricket 4 Kids in Melbourne. Most of the gear we received are brand new and enough goods to equip at least 30 schools. The club Members are having a dinner function to raise funds at GRAND METROPOLE in Clayton on the 15th July 2016. Please attend this function to help the cricket loving kids... in Sri Lanka. A cricket bat signed by the Sri Lankan cricketers who won the Asia cup will be auctioned on this day. See more
