11.01.2022 The white jersey will show up the frauds and the imposters. It will squeeze those who look for short cuts. You won’t last long in this jersey unless you are prepared to do the things you need to do to fill it.... The white jersey is never yours to keep - you are its custodian for a short time. You owe it to the jersey to do the hard things in hard times. Far away from the limelight of applause, imposed alone with an exacting conscience, is where you pay the price to wear the white jersey. Winning is never final and losing is never fatal - the white jumper lasts. You must fill the unforgiving minutes when wearing it - for the boys. BELIEF. #ThrowbackThursday

06.01.2022 Grant Jones is an Old Boy from the graduating class of 2005. When asked what Eddies meant to him, Grant explains that it was a place where lifelong friendships were formed and developed. Many of his close friends today are either former St Gregory’s Queanbeyan boys who continued on at Eddies, or new students who he met at Eddies. While the school means more to him than that, it’s the friendships, along with the values that are taught at Eddies, which he considers has shaped t...he way he deals with others in his personal and professional life. He is also proud of the Jones’s strong family connection to the school. His dad, David Jones, graduated in 1975 and was the 1st XV Captain. His brothers, Bradley (2007) and Ryan (2009) also graduated at Eddies with Ryan apparently taking all the rugby talent and captaining the 1st XV side as well. Grant speaks fondly of his time here at Eddies and specifically recalls a defining moment in his rugby career. It was the under 12’s Division 1 Rugby final and the team had managed to hold Marist out on their own try line for the last few minutes to get a win over the previously undefeated Marist side. Grant managed a big left foot side step to get past a Patty Mills tackle that day, which, according to Grant, is probably the reason why Patty decided to take up basketball instead! In the classroom, Grant enjoyed all the work they completed with the late and great Dennis Moreau. Since graduating, Grant has completed a Diploma of Agriculture, followed by his Cert III in Carpentry and Cert IV in Building. In 2013, Grant started working alongside his parents and brother Ryan in the family home building business. Grant is responsible for the sales and the daily operations of managing the business. In addition to his work, Grant has also been actively involved at the Queanbeyan Whites Rugby Club. He has spent the last 15 years playing and coaching for the Whites and has played alongside many Old Boys. He has also devoted his time as Chairman of the St Edmund’s Foundations for 4 years, he has since retired from this position and has been enjoying the extra time to play golf! Today, you can find Grant on his property out past Queanbeyan. Here with his wife Jayde, they are raising their three sons who will be the next generation of Jones boys at St Edmund’s in the coming future! #WherearetheyWednesday #StrongCharacter

06.01.2022 Graduating from Year 10 into Year 11 can be an intimidating transition for any student. The event will feature a presentation about the transition and key staff will be available before and after to answer any questions. The event will be held on Wednesday 19 August. 02.01.2022 Doesn't matter what colours you're wearing on the day - we're all on the same team! One of our favourite moments captured throughout the day happened earlier on during one of our junior matches. A St Edmund's player was injured in back play. Without hesitation, an opposing player from Marist went over, made sure the player was alright and helped the player off - walking with him, arm in arm the entire way to the sideline. ... We're blown away by the act of kindness and sportsmanship shown by the Marist player going above and beyond - even for someone on an opposing team... Big thanks again to Marist College Canberra for all of the matches throughout the day, and the spirit in which they were played.
