24.01.2022 Frustrated much! My update information disappeared when I clicked on "preview" to make sure everything you need to know was there and it did not appear again. This year the IK&TC has acquired the cattle rings for our shows on 19th /20th October 2019. This is a larger space for rings and has cattle stalls on three sides, providing covered set-up areas, for those who prefer not to lug gazebos, and is further into the showground, follow the road around past the Mens' shed...afte...r reporting to the caretaker. There is plenty of camping with powered sites adjacent to the rings and the facilities are also close to the camping area. These have been refurbished in the last 12 months and provide 4 showers and toilets for women, with 4 showers, 2 loos and 2 urinals for the men. Due to the continuing drought conditions of which we are all aware, the small committee is working to provide more space and a better surface by watering the ground, and those of us with mobile tanks will be providing a couple of loads of 1000 litres. We hope that this will help what viable grass there is to grow and flourish and that the prickle/bindii debacle of previous times will be avoided. Like many regional Kennel Clubs, we depend on entries to maintain the Club's viability in very hard times for many. Exhibitors are often torn between several shows which are held within a relatively short driving time and shows with more preferred judges. We look forward to seeing our loyal exhibitors and hope that there may be new ones ready to take on the Inverell region this year. In the meantime, pray for rain...do a rain dance...or any other proven activity to bring rain to a very parched land.
