15.01.2022 The new Seahaven Reserve enclosed dog park located on Charthouse Road, Waikiki will open tomorrow morning, Wednesday 16 December. This will be the City's larges...t enclosed dog park with an impressive 5000m of doggy fun - one side for small dogs and the other side for all dogs. The fully accessible dog park includes shade areas, nature play, obstacle equipment (tunnels, "Walk The Plank", "King of the Castle") and lots of running and exploring space. Our Community Engagement Officer and Rangers will be there from 8.30am with free showbags for the first 50 people and their dogs through the gates. 08.01.2022 HEATSTROKE WARNING It’s heating up, the sky is blue and beach is beautiful. Please be careful walking your dogs, you’ll be surprised how easy it is for pets to get heatstroke - temperature as low as 21’C can be enough to cause heatstroke under some circumstances. Heatstroke is a life threatening emergency and requires immediate medical attention. Heatstroke is deadly! The best cure is prevention. Please print this chart for the fridge and keep it on your phone. I’ve posted a link to some more information in the comments. Please be mindful of pets in cars and pets getting burnt feet from hot pavement too.
