24.01.2022 BABIES, BABIES, BABIES! We have had a lovely week at Secret Women's Business. So many new Mums coming in for their Post Natal Checks and bringing their bundles of joy with them. We love looking after these ladies before, during and after their pregnancies.

24.01.2022 So, here is how Rebecca decided to become an amazing Women's Health Physio and how lucky are we that she has joined up with SWB!! Only the best here at SWB "My high school plan was to be an engineer and then a friend said no, you’re way too caring you should be a physio and that started my journey to being passionate about my career as a physiotherapist! I then decided to focus my energy on becoming a women’s health physiotherapist. I did this as I could make a real impa...ct on improving women's quality of life. My goal as a women’s physiotherapist is to assist in the movement to educate women regarding pelvic health and encourage discussion. Outside of work I engage in a volleyball competition our team name is Haikyu!! (for any of you anime fans and yes we have the matching jersey!). I try and participate in active lifestyle, I go to crossfit classes, stand up paddle board and I try and take my dog Luna for a run most days." We love having Bec with her caring manner and happy smile with us at SWB

23.01.2022 WORLD CONTINENCE WEEK HABIT NUMBER TWO - EAT WELL Fibre in your diet will help improve bowel function and avoid constipation. Fibre is found in foods such as multi grain or whole grain breads, cereal products, fruit, vegetables, legumes, and nuts and seeds. Aim to eat two servings of fruit, five servings of vegetables and five servings of cereals and breads each day.

23.01.2022 WORLD CONTINENCE WEEK HABIT NUMBER THREE - GET ENOUGH FLUIDS AND DRINK WELL It's important to increase fluids when you increase fibre in your diet. Drinking plenty of water and staying hydrated helps to maintain digestive health. Drinks that contain caffeine, cola and alcohol can irritate your bladder, so water is the best choice.

23.01.2022 Looking after women before, during and after childbirth is one of the many areas we specialise in at SWB. There are so many benefits to exercising, talk to one of our amazing Women's Health Physio's - allow them to guide you in the right direction.

22.01.2022 WORLD CONTINENCE WEEK HABIT NUMBER FOUR - EXERCISE YOUR PELVIC FLOOR Having a strong pelvic floor is your insurance against incontinence. You can train your pelvic floor anytime, anywhere, no matter what sex, gender, age or fitness level you are. Try to do your pelvic floor muscle exercises every day, three times a day. See a continence health professional to learn how.

22.01.2022 This week is WORLD CONTINENCE WEEK a condition we feel very passionate about at SWB Physio. This week we will post 5 HEALTHY HABITS that are the key to preventing incontinence for the majority of Australians. HABIT NUMBER ONE - STAY ACTIVE... Physical Activity is beneficial for overall health - and that includes bladder and bowel function! Aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity per day. this doesn't have to be all at once. Activities like gardening, cleaning, playing with the grandkids, and taking the stairs all add up.

22.01.2022 This amazing post is worth sharing for world breastfeeding week

17.01.2022 This week is National Pain Week. Our experienced team at Secret Women's Business Physiotherapy specialise in the area of chronic pelvic pain. Pain is a normal human experience. Its purpose is one of protection. However, often when pain becomes chronic, it is not a signal of ongoing tissue damage. Chronic pelvic pain management involves a thorough treatment plan, often addressing many different areas that can be contributing to the pain experience (The info-graphic below is ...helpful in understanding some of the many areas of our life that are considered in pain management and prevention). This #infographic is proudly brought to you by the Physiotherapy Research Foundation (PRF) supporting research translation. #NPW2020 #choosephysio #PRF #painprevention #physiotherapy #swbphysio #secretwomensbusinessphysio

04.01.2022 WORLD CONTINENCE WEEK HABIT NUMBER FIVE - PRACTICE GOOD TOILET HABITS Don't get into the habit of going to the toilet 'just in case'. If you keep emptying your bladder 'just in case' too often, then the bladder may never fill up properly, and shrink a bit. This may give the feeling of needing to go to the toilet more frequently (Urge incontinence)
