25.01.2022 Finally something new in the shop! This mid century 18ct yellow gold ring is for larger fingers : it measures a size W or 11.25 & can’t be resized. A true unisex piece, perfect for absolutely everyone so long as they have those Cinderella fingers

25.01.2022 Have you ever had a massive crush on someone but the feeling wasn’t mutual? That’s me & this amazing little sparkle bomb I adore this opal in her Edwardian Era rose gold setting, but whenever I put it on (which is like every day) it never feels quite right & I leave the house without her. Clearly this heart stopper has designs on someone else Are you the lucky one??

21.01.2022 Rainy days are great for getting the listings done! I’ve been holding on to this skinny 22ct stacker for, gosh, better not say Full crisp english hallmarks for Birmingham 1949 & a size 7.5 or O1/2 it’s that perfect slice of rich gold your stack has been longing for

19.01.2022 These little golden baubles just arrived in the shop Italian made 9ct yellow gold at a treat yourself price

19.01.2022 Today was a good day for kicking goals: Mercury winged his fleet footed way into the shop It’s a habit of mine to list the ones I love most, first. If they hang around too long it gets dangerous as I’m too easily seduced by a nice bit of bling

18.01.2022 Lace agate is one of my favourite favourite stones. I love the alternating layers of opaque and translucent stone. It’s fascinating to be able to see the way the agate grew over thousands of years It was a Georgian era brooch & pendant with an extra long pin with the wide hinge and c-clasp. The pin was base metal and rusted right through, so we took the fittings off and left it as a pendant. This lovely thing is waiting in my shop for just the right person

17.01.2022 Now Listed : a small silver, turquoise and garnet topped doublet bug charm, revived out of a broken Victorian brooch. Lil friend here is probably meant to be a fly, which as an Australian I have trouble being fond of, but the Victorians saw them as symbolizing tenacity and transformation. He really could be any kind of flying insect - perhaps a Blue Banded Bee. They’re awesome

16.01.2022 Did I mention there’s a new Goddess in the shop?

14.01.2022 The Sweetest Thing! A freshly found early Victorian sentimental turquoise and diamond ‘forget me not’ ring with a locket at the back and still holding the original sweet nothing placed inside. This would have been a gift from a lover to his sweetheart, or from one kindred spirit - friend or relative - to another. Sentimental gifts were all the rage long before best friend charms. The Victorians punched it up a notch by enclosing little braided pieces of hair in their gifts, held in secret compartments. All original and headed to the shop

14.01.2022 I spent absolutely aaaages trying to puzzle out which Australian Colonial jeweller to attribute this piece to, but in the end : no clear answer. The consensus amongst my peers is that it’s definitely early Aussie, and that the mark could be a crown - making it South Australian but that’s not really an answer. When I found out that the rose gold XRF tests as 16ct, not 18c as it’s stamped I suspected that the scallywag Alexander Dick of Sydney (who also used a crown hallmark) might have been responsible. In 1829 Dick was convicted of receiving stolen property (12 silver spoons belonging to the Colonial Secretary) which he altered and sold. Naughty. I wonder what other tricks he got away with...

14.01.2022 Three favourites for #turquoisetuesday The sentimental forget me not ring has just joined the other lovelies in my shop

13.01.2022 It really wouldn’t be Monday without some moonstones in my feed This stunning Edwardian piece by Adelaide jewellers Wendts has just been listed in my shop, and I’m feeling a bit weak at the knees about it

13.01.2022 Today was full of surprises! Some of them were even nice The highlight was discovering that this yummy Art Deco Toi et Moi diamond ring was made by early Australian jewellers Dunklings of Melbourne. I knew she was special! If you swipe you’ll find I’ve included a little photo from the 1930s of the Dunklings Building - it’s so pretty! A lot like Beehive Corner in Adelaide This ring has just been listed in my website - you’ll find all the details there.

13.01.2022 Hai It’s the weekend!! (Now listed)

06.01.2022 Little pony friend is ready to run wild and free with you forever

05.01.2022 Will this pass for #turquoisetuesday ?? My expert gemologist has made her prognosis & sparkly blue is a natural blue topaz! It’s easily the very nicest topaz I’ve ever seen, and while it might look like a zircon or aqua you really can’t argue with a refractometer or Hopefully this will make some November babies very happy! It weighs in at 4.25 carats and is available right now on my website, click on the video to find out more.

05.01.2022 I’ve been lucky with moonstone finds lately You can claim either of these, or both! Available & listed in my shop

04.01.2022 Just Listed : Perfectly Proportioned Art Deco 18ct and platinum diamond ring made by Harris & Sprunt of Melbourne, circa 1913-1925. Low profile & easy to wear, she’d make a vey chic engagement ring, or a nice reward to yourself for being so awesome.
