25.01.2022 Had a visitor today. Not sure what type of moth he (or she is) but never seen one like this before. Had a wing span of about 10 cm.

23.01.2022 Scamander River rose almost four and a half metres in 5 hours
23.01.2022 Another beautiful morning on the water with Ali and Toby. Toby blitz the field in the fishing comp with 5 fish with Ali 2nd with 2 and the guide with a disappointing performance with 1 fish Bream were there in numbers getting ready to spawn but were not very hungry. Highlights, apart from Toby's expert angling, were seeing large schools of fish and a close up look at a young eagle.
23.01.2022 Great morning out yesterday with Yasmine, Paul, Callum, Mia, Luke, Mark and Alex. Youthful exuberance tested the guides fitness levels as a solid pace was set early. Luckily for me the fish started biting which gave my heart time to ease back down to a normal level. Highlights were the fishing, rock scimming competition (I was the winner) Alex catching a stick and thinking it was a big fish, having 5 teenagers in one place who were very polite and well behaved (except for Mia and Luke who were a bit silly) a tupperware container full of Kit Kats and the fact that I was able to get 7 Hobie Kayaks on the trailer and car to the river and back home without any falling off. A successful day indeed. :-)
22.01.2022 Live action from the St Helens bike tracks today. Bike undamaged as was I, however pulled up a little saddle sore. Lessons learnt? Slow down, two hands on the handle bars, tighten up the chin strap and don't try and take photo's with your mobile while riding!
22.01.2022 Bush fire update ! Wind has eased thankfully. Helicopters spent the afternoon dropping water so all good. Going to be a very smokey night.

15.01.2022 Well it was one of those days the east coast of Tassie is famous for. Decided to head up Scamander River on a dreary rainy Friday on a hunch the fish might be on,,,, and boy were the ON. A fish on almost every snag. Not sure how many I caught but my arm got sore, stopped taking video and pics after a couple of hours because it started to feel like work and in the end went home because I was sick of catching fish. Here some pics of the first hour or so. Will post some video's in the coming days. Oh and yes, the notorious "snag of death" got me again,,,, twice.
14.01.2022 A lot going on in Secret River world. Have some exciting news on the horizon but for now here are a few pics from a perfect Tassie lazy Thursday morning on the bay. Finally found some time get out among the fishy's. Needless to say they were thick. These are the ones I bothered to stop and take a picture of.
13.01.2022 Found some really nice blue sapphires last week. Good quality Tassie sapphires are as good as any in the world.
13.01.2022 Bad cast, good fish, poor camera work

11.01.2022 Great day out with Rob, Jules, Artie and Len yesterday on the Ansons River. Need to do more Anson river trips as it is very protected from the wind and the scenery is diverse and beautiful.
09.01.2022 More live action from sunny St Helens
08.01.2022 Scamander River Bream
08.01.2022 Great day out yesterday with Jason, Ali, Charlie and Willow from Hobart. During the tour we witnessed a mysterious and terrifying creature swimming across the river. After much discussion on what type of mythical monster was about to spring forth and devour the children, an Echidna crawl out onto the opposite bank. Children were relieved,,,, and rightly so! Thanks Jason for the great action shots.
07.01.2022 Having a whale of a time down here
06.01.2022 Busy couple of weeks with the Tassie school holidays in full swing. Catherine, Troy, Lucas and Thomas enjoying a perfect day on Scamander River. Highlight of the day was when a wedge tail eagle paid us a very close visit (too slow on the camera)
06.01.2022 If you have visited St Helens recently you may have spotted the new construction happening around the township. We have been really busy working on a new multi-...user track that is set to open at the end of October. The new track allows you to ride from the Trailhead to the centre of town and visa versa. How cool is that! See more
05.01.2022 Raining so hard this morning in St Helens the lawn has sprung a leak and the water is coming out of the drain instead of going in!
05.01.2022 Scamander River,,,, Yesterday and today
05.01.2022 No tour tomorrow :-(
03.01.2022 Great morning fishing out on the bay with Mike. Fishing was going off with Trevally. whiting, grassy wrasse, salmon and flat head all hitting the net. We also spotted a couple of sharks cruising the shallows and plenty of sting rays as usual. And to top it off, a seal turned up to escort us back to the ramp. Mike has a gardening maintenance business in St Helens, so if you have a garden that needs taming, call him on 6373 6221 or 0472 716 731
03.01.2022 That time of the year again,,, Miss July is my favorite :-)
02.01.2022 Wonder if there are any gem stones?
01.01.2022 Spent a few hours yesterday fishing at Policemans Point, Ansons Bay with the high tide, with gun beach fisherman "Brett" from St Helens. Heaps of big Trevally hunting in the sand patches between the weed. Challenging fishing but very rewarding. A privilege to fish in such an amazing location.
01.01.2022 Another perfect morning on the bay with Leonie, Louie and Jess.
01.01.2022 Breambonanza continues
