25.01.2022 Meet Ying, she is currently ranked Yondan (4th dan black belt) in Aikido. We are very lucky to have Ying co-teaching the 8 week self defence program for teenage girls at the YWCA. Watch out for a demonstration by Ying!

Being able to do self defence has not only made me feel confident with my body, but it has made me feel powerful in everyday life." 08.01.2022 I particularly like workshopping with people what safety, danger and strength can feel like. I find that these workshop activities build knowledge about our bodies and our emotions. In these discussion we address the nervous system response to fear (and how we can use waning signs of danger to keep ourselves safe), and also try to invite strength and our 'super hero self' into our skin and movements!
