17.01.2022 Man charged over alleged sexually-motivated break-ins at Burwood and Campsie Friday, 28 February 2020 11:39:18 AM A man will face court today charged over a ser...ies of alleged break-ins and sexual offences in the Burwood and Campsie areas. Earlier this week, detectives from Burwood and Campsie Police Area Commands commenced joint inquiries under Strike Force Julie after identifying links between break-ins, sexual offences, and stalking incidents in their local areas since October 2019. Following extensive inquiries, strike force detectives, assisted by Bass Hill Region Enforcement Squad, executed a search warrant at a home at Campsie about 3pm yesterday (Thursday 27 February 2020). The male resident allegedly fled through a window and onto the roof before breaking a hole through the roof of a neighbouring home. He was located a short time later hiding in a cupboard under the kitchen sink. The 38-year-old man was arrested and treated for superficial injuries at Canterbury Hospital before being taken to Campsie Police Station. He was charged with carry out sexual act with another without consent, two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm, two counts of enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse, aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-people there; aggravated break and enter with intent-knowing person there, break and enter, aggravated break and enter and commit serious indict offence-deprive liberty, The man has been refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today (Friday 28 February 2020). 15.01.2022 Man arrested and charged for Break, Enter, Steal Oyster Bay On 17/08/2020 a residence in Oyster Bay was broken into and jewellery stolen valued at approximate...ly $10,000. Today (27/08/2020), Sutherland Shire Police arrested a 40 year old man and executed a search warrant at his residence in Miranda. Some jewellery was recovered which police claim is from the break-in at Oyster Bay. Marine flares were also located. The man has now been charged with Break, Enter & Steal, and Handle explosive without a permit. He has been bail refused to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Friday, 28/08/2020
