25.01.2022 Right now many of you may have notice more usage of a rubber dam during restrictions. What is a Rubber Dam? A dental dam or rubber dam is a thin, square sheet, usually latex or nitrile, used in dentistry to isolate the operative site (one or more teeth) from the rest of the mouth. They also come in many colours! Why and what for ? Because our mouth have so much saliva it can prevent saliva interfering with the dental work (e.g. contamination of oral micro-organisms durin...g root canal therapy. This is also a fantastic way to keep materials such as composite to dry whilst being cured for filling procedures and to prevent instruments and materials from being inhaled, swallowed or damaging the mouth. During covid19 this is also a safe way to minimise aerosols, contamination for safety.

21.01.2022 As of Thurs 6th August, ALL (yes ALL!) dental practices in Metro Melb must cancel all non-urgent dental appointment until further notice. We are still open on reduced hours for anyone needing emergency care (eg toothaches, trauma, infections etc). And no thanks to our Government who decided to email every dentist in Melb about the ruling a few HOURS before we were due to open this morning!... Sorry to those we had to cancel last minute today. We had to do the right thing. We are all in this together. Stay safe.

17.01.2022 All patients are now required to wear a face mask within our clinics. (except those with legit medical reasons) Good to see 90% of our patients this week are doing that already, even before the Government's official deadline. We have been wearing masks all day, everyday at work since Day 1. ... It's no big deal, anyone can do it!

09.01.2022 This week we like to share more info on Dental abscess. What is it ? This is a pocket of pus in a tooth caused by an infection. This can Happen due to trauma, untreated decay or other health factors. Symptoms include pain, bad breath and fever. People may experience: Pain areas in the jaw, swelling Mouth; pain with eating, bad breath, dental cavities, or tooth loss... Also common: pus, fever, headaches loss of sleep or swollen lymph nodes Treatment consists of antibiotics and procedures The abscess must be drained. A root canal or antibiotics may be required. Sometimes, the tooth needs to be pulled out. Never ignore a tooth ache, even if it is mild. Get it looked at before it gets worse. See more

04.01.2022 Dental Clinics in Metro Melb are still under Level 3 restriction. So that means ALL dental clinics must only provide urgent or emergency care. The directive came straight from our Government and all dental clinics must comply. Our original re-opening date will now be delayed until Monday 28th Sept. We are still open part-time for emergency-only appointments.... Our staffs cannot wait to get back into it!
