22.01.2022 MAKERS! It’s a new decade and time to apply for our markets this year! Our May 2 market is the weekend before Mother’s Day so it would be a great time to trade with us for handmade gifting... Are you new to trading at markets? It can be daunting when starting and we understand this. We have an emerging stallholder stall opportunity for those who meet the criteria in our ‘Be A Stallholder’ section of our website For all applying, remember: We are an outdoor and indoor market and you are agreeing to these terms when you send your application through. You can apply for all markets in one application - you won’t be selected for all necessarily but gives us an idea of your availability. It’s a good idea to note down what dates you’ve applied or save our confirmation of application email Send through your BEST quality photos as this may assist with a successful application Please also note the strict handmade policy in order to be eligible for selection Please be advised that due to the high volume of applications we can no longer send emails to those who are not selected. Please do not email us for updates. Keep an eye out on our social media pages and junk email regularly if you are not sure We look forward to seeing your application!

14.01.2022 Thank you to those who have expressed an interest in a SMM drop off point animal pouches and crocheted bird nests At this stage, there isn’t enough for a car load so it may be best at this stage to arrange to drop off your pouches/nests to a West Footscray address we have available via the Animal Rescue Collective website If you wish to drop off here please DM us and we will forward the details to you... You can also post your items to various shelters- we have these details too so DM us if this is a better option for you A gentle reminder to make the pouches and nests to the patterns specified on the ARC PDFs found on the @morningtonpeninsulalibraries website: https://ourlibrary.mornpen.vic.gov.au//Can-you-help-Aid-fo Thank you

04.01.2022 Tonight, as parts of our country burn and lives, animals, habitats, homes & livelihoods are lost, the SMM/MMG Committee would like to pledge our support to those who need it the most In the spirit of our continued commitment to support community, we have donated $500 to @foodbankvictoria who are working with bushfire affected communities to deliver much needed essentials of water and food https://www.foodbank.org.au/VIC... We also want to acknowledge the tireless and heroic work of the CFA and encourage you, if you can, to donate to brigades in East Gippsland and North Eastern Victoria: www.cfa.vic.gov.au There are Facebook animal welfare groups who are seeking assistance with items such as towels, joey bags, pillow slips, pet food, fodder, bandages etc. Do any of our talented makers know of any sewing groups etc organising the making of these items we can help promote? To our makers, visitors and volunteers with family/friends in the above areas and in NSW, we are thinking of you. Please heed the evacuation warnings and stay safe
