25.01.2022 Our little mate Max, playing to his hearts content. Linking to the EYLF: 1.1.2 Each child’s current knowledge, strengths, ideas, culture, abilities and interests are the foundation of the program. Our Educators identify this by observing children indicating their deep involvement in experiences that are rich and meaningful to them through verbal and non-verbal responses, and sustained concentration.
25.01.2022 Our Miss Jacynta is getting so excited about being the lead educator in nursery 2021. Already ensuring she is building a strong bond with the babies who are already in our care.

25.01.2022 Kindergartens day! Today’s painting activity follows on from our gardening lesson with Miss Wendy, in which we looked inside different fruits and vegetables to see what shapes we could see inside them. Today we painted with the different fruits and vegetables to observe what shapes and textures they would create on the paper.

Image of the Child: Children are viewed as competent, curious, full of knowledge, potential, and interested in connecting to the world around them. 20.01.2022 The importance of developing relationships with children is reflected under Quality Area 5 of the National Quality Standard (NQS), in particular: Standard 5.1: Respectful and equitable relationships are developed and maintained with each child. Element 5.1.2: Each child is able to engage with educators in meaningful, open interactions that support the acquisition of skills for life and learning.... 19.01.2022 At Seedlings, we strongly believe in the importance of the concept ‘stay and play’. When enrolling at our Centre, we invite you and your child to spend some time in the Centre prior to their first official day. We have found as a service that ‘stay and plays’ are beneficial for the many reasons such as: - building relationships with new educators ... - becoming familiar in the new environment - seeing Mum/Dad comfortable in the environment has a positive influence on the child - building relationships with peers. National quality area 6: Collaborative partnerships with families and communities. Standard 6.1: Supportive relationships with families. Element 6.1.1 Families are supported from enrolment to be involved in the service and contribute to service decisions.

11.01.2022 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there; The children were nestled all snug in their beds;... While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads; And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap, Had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap, When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like a flash, Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow, Gave a lustre of midday to objects below, When what to my wondering eyes did appear, But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny rein-deer, With a little old driver so lively and quick, I knew in a moment he must be St. Nick. More rapid than eagles his coursers they came, And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name: "Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now Prancer and Vixen! On, Comet! on, Cupid! on, Donner and Blitzen! To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall! Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!" As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky; So up to the housetop the coursers they flew With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof The prancing and pawing of each little hoof. As I drew in my head, and was turning around, Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound. He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot, And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot; A bundle of toys he had flung on his back, And he looked like a pedler just opening his pack. His eyeshow they twinkled! his dimples, how merry! His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry! His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow, And the beard on his chin was as white as the snow; The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth, And the smoke, it encircled his head like a wreath; He had a broad face and a little round belly That shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly. He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf, And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself; A wink of his eye and a twist of his head Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread; He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk, And laying his finger aside of his nose, And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose; He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, And away they all flew like the down of a thistle. But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night! See more

06.01.2022 G’day! I’m Mr Trav I am a local handyman, with 3 children of my own. I have joined the Seedlings community to help maintain the up keep of the Centre. I too also share in the vision of the Seedlings team to create sustainable resources, up cycling pre used materials. I work in conjunction with Educators to plan and create what is needed within the environment.... I have recently created a fantastic table setting for the Junior/Senior Toddler children, located in the outdoor environment for them to enjoy, relaxed and engaging meal times together. The setting is made from milk crates, timber pieces and painted in the seedlings logo colours. A new project is on the horizon for me to be able to engage the children contributing to projects that can be utilised within the centre, having a sustainable approach to learning: REDUCE: If we can reduce how much we use, this is the best way to create less waste and should always be the thing to aim for. REUSE: This helps keep things from becoming waste for longer. If you must buy something, reusing it again and again is better than throwing it out. RECYCLE: The last resort* of the three Rs. Recycle when you can’t reduce or reuse. I look forward to meeting you all and saying G’day Quality area 3: Element 3.1.2-Up keep. Premises, furniture and equipment are safe, clean and well maintained. Element 3.2.3-Environmentally responsible. The service cares for the environment and supports children to become environmentally responsible

Our donation meant that we could help bring education to more people. Today I was presented with a certificate of appreciation by the president of the organisation. I am very grateful for this recognition but want to do more. So with your help and the help of the community please donate books of any kind to our centre so we can continue to help.
