24.01.2022 Last week, during our special visit from Andi's Nanna Jo, she gifted us a canvas with a serpent, to display here at Kindy. Encouraging awareness of the Aboriginal flag, she suggested we create handprints featuring the important components of the flag- Today, I was very proud to hear my friends recall this... Black- represents the people... Yellow- represents the sun Red- represents the red earth Fantastic learning, connecting and engaging friends!

21.01.2022 World Smile Day A man named Harvey Ball thought that we all need to devote one day each year to smile and to show kind acts throughout the world . The smiley face knows no politics, no geopgraphy and no religion. Harvey's idea was that for at least one day each year , neither should we! A little smile could make someone's whole day!

15.01.2022 We had a very special visitor last week. Andi's Nana No joined us for a morning of Aboriginal craft, stories and painting! The children had the opportunity to immerse themselves in Aboriginal culture by using dot painting to decorate boomerang's, learning Aboriginal words and learning all about sage sticks and smudge sticks that smelt like rosemary! We just love it when our families join us for play and share their amazing culture with us. We are so lucky to have so many children from so many different backgrounds. Plus families who are so willing to give up their time to share and teach our children and educators.

02.01.2022 What is better than a muddy puddle to jump in and a sink to cook your muddy pies in? Nothing! The children are loving that the weather is warming up and they can experience more areas of our new yard.

01.01.2022 Afternoon Everyone , One of our families has started a petition to the local council for the rejection of a development of a childcare centre next to Rochedale South state school. This childcare centre is not needed, would effect the koala population, would cause more traffic issues, property devaluation and may cause parking issues around that area. This is effecting a lot of our families at our centre. We have copies of the petition and are collecting signatures at the front desk to help stop this development. Please feel free to pop in and sign the petition and even collect copies to hand to your family/neighbours/ friends. Thank you in advance for helping our families and the community.
