TO keep our communities safe we will be adhering to state specified (VIC) health and safety procedures.... 18.01.2022 I am fascinated by the death/re-birth phase of the cycle (menstrual, day/night, seasonal, moon, life, etc.) because it seems to be a place where we hold so much fear. Fear of the unknown; the paths we have not-yet-travelled, perhaps the paths rarely travelled, by anyone. This is sometimes also known as "The Crossroads"; a place we reach when we are finished with something (physical, emotional, spiritual, external or internal in nature) yet we are unsure of where we are travel...ling next. It definitely feels uncomfortable... like growing pains. In my experience the greater the discomfort the more powerful the change (like levelling up!). So the last two shamanic drum journeys that I have taken I have visited this space (not by choice I might add). My own death... dis-membering process... whereby my body has been picked apart to bones and returned to the earth. Both times the re-birth process was different... the last one was slow, I saw many seasons pass as my bones lay in the earth. I was learning patience. To also trust that the space between (void) is also a safe and comforting place. To trust my process, have faith that I would be re-born. Sometimes I am a very slow learner, so this makes sense! The Crone, and the 'Dark' Goddess (archetype) Hecate, hold space for us during this time. They represent, that which resides in us, our ancient inner wisdom, a sense of trusting ourselves to not only survive, but thrive in these places. Trusting that what is right now is perfect, that we are safe, that we can listen to ourselves for 'what next'. Trusting that every death (ending of something, the release, the letting go) precedes a re-birth; that death is not 'the end' but a transition. I believe that there is great value in finding your own inner comfort during these uncomfortable times... learning to trust, be curious about what will come... because change and transition are inevitable, and they allow life to flow. As you read this you have experienced a number of breath cycles... the space between the full exhale and the next inhale is this space. Did you panic that if you let all your air out that there may be no more? "The Crone is our psychic home. She is that mature place of inner knowing that you have earned by fighting your way out of the underworld in the past, and if you let her, she will precede and follow you from this day on" Toko-pa Turner Have a read of her article... I will add that I resonate with concept of there being 4 phases of the life of a woman (we live a lot longer now) to include the Maga phase, between Mother and Crone. 14.01.2022 After taking this video: . I watched the wind make the water dance I heard the wind talk through the trees I heard the birds call and crickets sing... I felt the rain on my skin and my two feet on the soft wet earth I felt connected I breathed my breath and felt my loving heart beat. . I found a new place, in this place that I be, and, I met a witches tree. . Do you believe in magic? Do you hear it, see it, smell it, feel it... imagine it? Some of what I experienced cannot be spoken here for it is not of this space, it is only to Be with, experienced in place. . I didn't want to leave... It was the dark that beckoned me home. . On my way home I met upon a tree split in half by wild weather (no photos ... as it is not in good grace to photograph some wild things, even if they cannot verbalize this in our languages, they have their own) Literally being held by death, half in and half out of the grave beneath Yet still, she danced in the wind. Death greets us all, over, and over again. Knows us better than we know ourselves. Maybe we all meet death as a child, regardless of our age, wisdom, or state. We are children returned and re-membered, in her embrace. . And this may sound crazy but I swear as my eyesight decreases in the light of day it sharpens as night falls. Perhaps because it is easier to hear. . Then to my greatest surprise I crossed paths with another human who was singing the same song as my heart A rare, and joyful happening, an unexpected gift . I am so grateful, heart full, body energised. . This is not an ordinary life. This is extra-ordinary.

14.01.2022 Collective Grief & Fear What is unfolding now in our world, in our backyard, is huge and requires our love, resilience and heart felt action. If we become too overwhelmed by the collective grief and fear currently rippling around this planet, this country, we are likely to react in one of two ways:... 1. Shut down (looks like: can't move forward, feels too hard, withdraw, want to escape) 2. Re-active (looks like: attacking others, blaming, not listening, ranting, misplaced agression & anger, lack of compassion) It is important that we FEEL our feelings... however if we absorb ALL the feelings we become overwhelmed, and ineffective, and our world needs us, present and mindful! It is important that we each be clear about what is ours, and what is others, the collective. I have spent a few days in deep grief... crying from a seemingly bottomless well of tears. For this planet and all of her magnificent treasures. At times it felt unbearable, as though I couldn't cope with the oppressiveness of it, the sheer magnitude. Then my partner (who is aware of my empathic emotional self) warned me against surrogating everyone's emotions. Bingo. I was allowing myself to become overrun. This is not constructive. It can paralyze. It can create reactivity. SUGGESTIONS for daily practices to support you to support our future: Take time each day to tune into YOU before taking on the rest of the world. Spend time in nature. Listen. Watch. Smell. Feel. Remember to eat well, drink water, stretch, dance, sing, etc. (your individual vibration contributes more than you know) Look for beauty. 07.01.2022 When the women were drummers..... (a book by Layne Redmond) One of my favourite medicine tools is the frame drum. I made my first one as part of the Shamanic School of Womancraft four seasons journey back in December 2016... that first birth was pretty epic. It taught me a lot, as did my drum, and my drumming. Since then I have birthed two more drums (one a home birth, all alone), and they couldn't be more different! Each experience unique to me, each drum's medicine equally... unique. I use them at different times, for different reasons. They are all powerful healing tools. I have also undertaken a drum making apprenticeship this year and have collaboratively held space during two (soon to be three) drum making workshops and enjoyed every magical moment!! 06.01.2022 This is a map of my creative process since 2020 Melbourne lock-down-life began. Organically, due to restrictions, I flowed into crafting drums for others. Simply because people asked me if I would! I have a feeling that I opened this portal when I crafted a special drum for my brother's 50th birthday last year. ... (Not everything I've crafted is represented in the photos I've shared; including things that became gifts and things that are still in process.) . THE JOURNEY... First was my Ancestoral Healing drum. 18 inch frame (especially made with love by @divineheartframedrums) with fallow deer hide and super seven crystal. . . Second was a drum commissioned by a friend and Shamanic healer. 15 inch frame with an (unusually dark) kangaroo hide and astrophyllite crystal. The drum beater for this drum includes felt, leather, yarn and emu feathers on eucalyptus. . . Third was my first rattle, gifted to my sister @love_lottie . Kangaroo hide with driftwood (collected in Waikanae Beach, NZ), leather, feathers and jasper crystal. . . Next, a rattle for myself. Deer hide, felted rabbit fur, kangaroo leather and echidna spines on driftwood (NZ hardwood collected from Raumati South beach). . . Fifth was an adaption of the chacapa/chakapa rattle, a traditional South American style rattle (used in plant medicine & healing ceremonies), commissioned by @brianshargo. Crafted with dried eucalyptus leaves and fallen eucalyptus branch. This rattle calls in the spirit of the Wind element; literally sounding like wind moving through the trees. . . Lastly, was a drum commissioned by a gorgeous soul (@tarina-ridis) I connected with thanks to the black cockatoos near my home 15 inch frame with deer (stag) hide and rose quartz crystal.
