Whoever you are, wherever you are, your mental/emotional/spiritual health needs to become your priority Give yourself what it is you need - take a walk, a nap, get a massage, start a new novel, phone a friend, paint, write, dance, sing... whatever it takes to nurture, nourish, top-up and tend to your own wellbeing. 17.01.2022 So many of us hold the false belief that we have prove our selves and our worth before we can receive our own love. But you need loving now. Right now! In the thick of the difficulty, while you are feeling sad, lonely, confused, scared - and the most potent love you can get is the love that comes from your own heart. Don't wait - don't deprive yourself any longer. You don't have to try, prove, justify, convince or demonstrate your worth - you were born worthy and deserve loving now - exactly as you are, where you are

I'm at it again - adding, deleting, reworking, refining.... and very thankful that my original manuscript has not been accepted - for what is now coming through is a much more accurate reflection of my philosophy and my message ... to live as a seeker and make one's life a meaning-full journey I'll keep you posted with the progress...and the process!

12.01.2022 Just the title alone, 'PERMISSION TO FEEL', is a valuable and encouraging message for us all as we do our best to find our way through this unprecedented chaotic and disturbing time. But I also want to share Professor Marc Brackett's closing sentences in the opening chapter on page 21: "We all want our lives, and the lives of the people we love, ... to be free of hardship and troubling events. We can never make that happen. We all want our lives to be filled with healthy relationships, compassion, and a sense of purpose. THAT we can make happen... It starts with the permission to feel, the first step of the process." If you can't get your hands on this insightful and practical book quick enough and want to hear Marc Brackett speak on what permission to feel looks like and why it's so important, check out the great interview he did with the wonderful Brene Brown on her podcast, Unlocking Us dated 14 April 2020 Thankyou @brenebrown and @marc.brackett for all that you both do to guide and support us as we each find our way

10.01.2022 O Canada! This time last year... Never have I been more affected by nature. Day after day of breathtaking magnificence...it was overwhelming! So much so that it took weeks for the experience to settle into my system. And still, one year on, I look back at the memories in my mind and on my phone and am blown away by what I witnessed. I can't put my finger on what it is - why this place in the world had such an effect on me - and maybe I don't need to. Sometimes there are no w...ords...only a feeling - and even that cannot be named PS. Thank you all for indulging my obsession with Canada this past year! I can't promise this'll be the last pic either, but I promise I'll space them out

09.01.2022 How's this for an empowering shift! Thank you Yung Pueblo for this important reminder: no one can "make" us happy - we are each responsible for our own happiness - but how wonderful it is to have people around us who support us to get our needs met I discovered this gem from his beautiful book, 'inward', which is the newest addition to my library. And I know there'll be more to share with you, but for now here's one more - a little boost for all who are on the journey to hea...l and grow: "the forces of the universe support those who work at healing themselves" #yungpueblo @yungpueblo #inward #seekerandsage

07.01.2022 Change is loaded with uncertainty, sending even the most level-headed among us into confusion. Clarity is what we want and we'll do anything to get it - but it cannot be forced...it comes...in its own time and in its own way. When we shift from thinking to receiving mode we provide an opportunity for the answers to drop in.... Anytime you're experiencing confusion, recognise it as a signal to consciously release the issue and let go of all the mental anguish that goes with it - you will be creating a vital space for the clarity you need to come.

05.01.2022 This is how we do it...all of us learning as we go. Thank you Maya Angelou, for so honestly but gently showing us the way www.seekerandsage.com

03.01.2022 I'm a big fan of questions that take us deeper into our human experience - of asking them and then setting them free...and then trying on the replies that come to see which feel right and true within. A favourite is: When do I feel truly alive? But don't hurry the answer. And don't settle for the first thing that comes to you! ... This kind of question needs time...and it wants to be asked over and over again until it has served its purpose - to stir in you the desire to do more of the things that light you up and feed your soul. So give it your patience and wait resolutely - after all it holds the key to your happiness, your fulfillment, and to a life that is rich with meaning and purpose...whatever that may be for you PS. It's a great one to journal www.seekerandsage.com

02.01.2022 TRUE WISDOM It's 19 years since this little beauty was published - a classic Wayne Dyer that I have kept close due to its solid yet inspiring messages that always bring ease to a troubled mind and heart. All 10 'secrets' are valuable, but it is the 10th that I wish to highlight today: Wisdom Is Avoiding All Thoughts That Weaken You. On page 145 he states that "Every single thought you have can be assessed in terms of whether it strengthens or weakens you." ... We all know what it feels like to think thoughts of lack and fear, and if we keep thinking them we will lose our sense of power - we will feel weakened and more defeated. Wisdom, as Wayne puts it, is to avoid those thoughts that weaken us. It's easy to have them - this is a time of immense challenge nationally and globally, let alone us going through our own personal struggles - but to notice what we're thinking and to identify the thoughts as either strengthening or weakening is a great way to move through change consciously. We are then perfectly positioned to pause, reflect on how we want to feel, and to choose a more empowering, strengthening thought to take us there. Sounds wise to me

02.01.2022 All this change and uncertainty has the potential to stir up feelings of apprehension and fear - natural responses when we face the unknown. But rather than try to combat or control the fear we're better off to recognise it as a sign - a time to activate the courage we need to make it through the change successfully. Courage is the antidote to fear as it counteracts it. When we think and act with strength and persevere despite the pain, the fear, and the difficulty we are fac...ing, we are applying courage. And don't think you have to overcome the fear first - the courage will come from and through the decision you make to press on and keep going regardless of how hard or challenging it might be. Beyond the fear is the resolution, the desire, the outcome you want - call on courage to help you get there. Decide that you can and you will make it through this challenging time www.seekerandsage.com

02.01.2022 It's a journey alright...but rather than look at how far there is to go on this marathon that is Covid-19, let's all take stock of how far we have come. Let's honour what it has taken to face and adjust to the challenging circumstances that this pandemic has brought to all our lives - what we have done, how we have managed, who we have helped and how we have grown in the process. Let's acknowledge the tremendous resiliency and strength it has taken to wake up each day and do ...the difficulty of the distancing and the restrictions; to live another day surrounded by fear and uncertainty and not let those feelings overwhelm or destroy our spirit. And let's appreciate all that we have each given and received - the kindness, the care, the compassion to and from our fellow marathoners - the family, friends, neighbours and community we work and live in... for without such love, such heart, we would all be far worse off We have all come such a long way. Let us recognise the journey so far and honour our own process and the progress we have made

01.01.2022 R U OK? Today is National R U OK? Day - the day we are reminded that EVERYDAY is the day to ask R U OK? ...because we're all riding the roller coaster of life - we will all have our moments and our days when the slopes are just too steep or slippery and to share it with someone who cares can make all the difference.
