23.01.2022 Due to popular demand! This is a song I wrote for a group of 300 Year 10 students doing a workshop on BODY IMAGE. Warning: This song has a ukulele and demonstrates self-compassion, non-judgement, and mindfulness in action. Listen at your own risk ;-) https://buff.ly/2RnfQVg It is perfectly imperfect. Recorded in a caravan a while back. Enjoy ;-)

22.01.2022 Key points: non-harmful, intermittent, positional, brief spinning, treatable. You can treat this at home safely and effectively with the BPPV Video Kit. Contact a local vestibular expert to help you diagnose and treat this condition if it persists. What is it? BPPV is a commonly seen form of dizziness. It is a condition of dislodged calcium carbonate particles inside the inner ear. The particles belong in neighbouring areas of the inner ear and are important for detecting acc...Continue reading

21.01.2022 Approximately 1 in 3 experience bothersome tinnitus or dizziness in their lifetime. Chances are you know at least one person impacted by these invisible symptoms. Tinnitus is sound made by our body that nobody else can hear. Vertigo or dizziness is the sensation of movement when we are still. At worst these symptoms are debilitating, leaving sufferers unable to work, socialize, or even care for their own children. My forthcoming book, Rock Steady, explains how we can use the... brain’s capacity to change, a process called neuroplasticity, to fully recover these symptoms. The book covers why doctors and health professionals cannot do neuroplasticity for us, why nobody is talking about neuroplasticity or how to implement it, and brings clarity to the complex diagnostic and investigative process for these chronic symptoms. With a friendly easy to read approach, this book offers practical support on how to get started with neuroplasticity healing. For folks suffering with chronic tinnitus or dizziness, this book is a lifeline. It brings hope to the hopeless, and it offers a much needed refreshing perspective that is heart-centered, scientific, and evidence based. Rock steady the book is an introduction to using Rock steady to heal chronic tinnitus and vertigo. It is a standalone resource for folks with mild conditions and family members of those affected by these chronic conditions. This book is an excellent reference for any health care professional. ***Join our Book Launch*** Oct 27th: Pre-orders Open! Get Your Bonuses! Nov 16th: BOOK LAUNCH CELEBRATION! 16.01.2022 Key points: It can feel like a jetlag that doesn’t end. What is it? This is a cluster of symptoms that do not quite fit into any other category. Patients report feeling off-kilter or they report lingering sensory distortions. There are no known triggers. Patients often note reduced concentration, visual blur or brief dizzy spells. The sensory distortions can occur when the pathways to and from the brain are a little muddled. With medical clearance, there is a great possibilit...y that these symptoms will mend with time and understanding of what our body is telling us. The symptoms often make sense once we really listen in, with openness and curiosity. We lean in. The body is always seeking its own symmetry, homoeostasis and equilibrium. It can take time and it can be frustrating. Many patients with these symptoms make subtle changes to their priorities and look for ways to recharge their batteries. In other words, when all else fails, look to self-care strategies and find out what works for you the options are endless. We have seen people recover (& thrive) time and time again. You know it Being overworked, under-slept and spending lots of time in front of a screen or on the run can exacerbate brain fog, fuzziness and idiopathic dizziness. Worry about symptoms can also prolong recovery.

Joey Remenyi from Seeking Balance International talks with Karlene Georgiadis a biomedical naturopath about our gut health and healing chronic symptoms with our microbiome! 15.01.2022 Key points: It is not recurrent, usually only in one ear, vertigo is severe at onset and gradually improves over the following months, hearing loss or tinnitus noises may also occur, medical advice recommended. What is it? Labyrinthitis is a viral or bacterial bug that causes disruption inside the inner ear. If it is contained to the balance organs alone, then vertigo will be the main concern. If the infection spreads to the hearing organs then hearing loss and new noises (ti...nnitus) within the ear/s may also be noticed. The situation: The infection can cause trauma to the inner ear structures resulting in permanent damage to the fragile architecture of the inner ear. Luckily, we have two ears, so if one ear is damaged we can still use the balance and hearing functions on the other side. The recovery process is different for each person. The body and brain need to re-learn how to balance and hear with only one ear. This can be confusing, frustrating, and tedious. With ROCK STEADY support tools and home exercises, recovery can be a smooth process.

Listen to Celia share how challenges to her health, becoming a mother and working as a pelvic health physiotherapist helped shape her purpose in life.

10.01.2022 Mindfulness within daily passings. Try this exercise if you like: Take a photo of anything that catches your eye and inspires a feeling of curiosity. At home. On a walk. At work. You don’t need to ‘like’ it. Just see it. Capture its quirky flavour. This is a good practice of presence.... Put your judgments aside and photograph any thing at all. See it. Be beside it. Observe its many aspects. Notice how you feel. Notice how your react or respond to the image. Enjoy the delights of seeing with fresh eyes Notice your closed, rigid or judgmental reactions. Awareness is healing. If you notice resistance and judgment... (I can’t be bothered... what a waste of time... who cares... etc) offer yourself compassion. You don’t need to be an expert while learning. Try it if this feels good for you. Notice if you cultivate a different connection to your daily routine. You may delete any or all photos. The process is more important than the destination. Have fun playing with curiosity. It is such a gift that is important for healing. See more

09.01.2022 9 HOT TIPS for VERTIGO & TINNITUS... WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT: 1. Get a medical opinion to confirm there is nothing sinsiter underlying your symptoms.... 2. Get the information you need to ease your own concerns about the changes to your body sensations. There will be a reason that they are there and sometimes it helps to understand the mechanics behind it. Talk to a vestibular audiologist or oto-neurology specialist about it. 3. Seek a specialist to support you rather than relying on generic therapies or general advice. Don't believe anyone who says: 'Live with it and there is nothing you can do'. It is not a truth. There is a lot you can do to reshape the neural pathways of these sensations. 4. Trust that the body can self-repair and learn about neuroplasticity. 5. Begin daily practice (of around 15-mins a day) to pro-actively and gently provide sensory enrichment designed for fine-tuning your balance/tinnitus pathways. Update this regularly and make sure you don't feel robotic. Stay engaged and connected to both your thoughts, breath and body movements in various ways. Keep a variety of tilts, accelerations, speeds, rotations and forms of stillness. 6. Know that your symptoms will change (it is 100% impossible for any sensation or symptoms to remain identical over time, change is inevitable). 7. Learn about the DO's & DON'Ts of your repair process. Be sure not to repeat aggravating or highly stimulating activities until your body is up to it... and be honest with yourself about avoidance behaviours that lead to worsening of symptoms. (E.g. Trying to get rid of a sensation often makes the sensation worse. You may need to experiment with a different approach.) 8. GET ADVICE and be methodical in how you create a recovery plan moving forwards. You will find a way that works for you and your neural pathways will keep adapting and evolving. Don't compare yourself to others. 9. Expect some lack of motivation, confusion, isolation, disappointment, frustration along the way. That is why you need a support team and direct feedback to monitor your progress and stay on track. Use the ROCK STEADY program to get started: Learn the ropes. Join us in Seeking Balance... Joey

08.01.2022 HSP: High Sensitive People. I am one of these. So are many of you. It is not a diagnosis, it is a normal part of being diverse. Like blonde, or brunette. 20% of the population (including Mozart and Einstein) are HSP. ... We see details that others miss. We need more quiet time, more sleep and more space. Our brains work at a very fast rate and process a LOT OF DETAIL that others miss. We are gifted in this way. We are susceptible to depression, burn out and anxiety if we push through and try to keep up with the other 80%. We need to learn to 'no thanks' for our survival and we need to recharge our batteries often. We don't love bright lights nor loud busy places for any length of time... we seek nature and connection with loving others in a quiet way. Welcome! You are so safe here.
