18.01.2022 SEGNUT SURVIVES TOUGHEST ENVIRONMENTAL TEST YET As part of an in-service trial at Infrabuilds Laverton steel recycling facility, Segnuts have been used to secure the water-filled insulating jacket on a furnace running at 1300 degrees C, with the nuts themselves exposed to temperatures as high as 450 degrees C. The first phase of the test was to determine how Segnut would perform as a secure fastener in these extreme conditions. After seven weeks in place, a selection of the... nuts were removed without issue by simply undoing them in the conventional fashion. Were pleased to report, the oxide coating survived the ordeal and the structural integrity of the nut was not compromised. The remaining Segnuts have been left in place for the full lifecycle of the jacket, which is due for removal in mid-November. At that stage some of the nuts will be cracked to prove that the Segnut quick-release mechanism continues to operate as designed, despite the punishment. Watch this space!

18.01.2022 HAZARD REDUCTION THROUGH INNOVATION - BHP ADOPTS SEGNUT After nearly two years of close cooperation including technical trials, laboratory tests and rigorous field studies, Segnut has been officially accepted by BHP for use in its WA Iron Ore operations. 14.01.2022 THE NUTS AND BOLTS Ever wondered about the nuts and bolts of how a Segnut is put together? Our technology comprises five crucial elements: 1. Segmented inner nut the 3 individual segments enable the nut to release 2. Outer sleeve designed with a clearance to allow the segments to move away from the bolt when it is rotated to release the inner nut 3. Inner nut corners provides flats for a standard hex wrench and prevents the outer sleeve from moving upward... 4. Hardened washer 5. Dilation force is generated as the bolt is tightened, holding the segments in place until it is turned and the segments are free to release away from the bolt. Questions? 07.01.2022 REDUCING THE RISK OF HAND ARM VIBRATION INJURIES Workers exposed to ongoing hand and arm vibration through regular use of conventional power tools, can often experience symptoms such as tingling, numbness, pain and weakened grip. In an article published in Safety and Health Magazine, it is explained that prevention is the key Once the worker starts exhibiting symptoms, youve already gone past the point of no return. If employers can become aware of the disease and its deve...lopment, then they can be cognizant of providing warm and dry work environments and seeing about eliminating the need for workers to operate a handheld power tool in the first place. One of the tips for reducing risk includes alternating between vibrating and non-vibrating tools. Were pleased to offer a solution that minimises the torque required to remove nuts, requiring less time with rattle guns and rad guns, therefore reducing exposure to hand arm vibration and laceration injuries.
