06.01.2022 Osu all, Corona Virus (COVID19) March 13th 2020 in relation to Seido Karate Richmond There is currently no specific recommendation on the Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) website regarding COVID19 and people coming together for community based sporting activity. CLASSES CONTINUE AS NORMAL... At this stage the government recommends going about your daily routine as normal unless you: Have been diagnosed with COVID19 ( NB we have no incidence of this at Seido Karate) Are showing symptoms and have recently travelled to at risk countries Had contact with a person that has the virus or Recently travelled overseas If you or your family fall into any of these categories please do not come to karate classes. Students (both adult and kids) have always been discouraged from attending class if they have a cold or are unwell. This has not changed. Please do not come to karate if you are unwell. Expert opinion (DHHS & Chief Medical Officer, Victoria) suggest that numbers of people being infected will continue to rise significantly over the coming months. We aim to do what we can to try and minimise the spread of the virus in the community. If the virus continues to spread and it is recommended by the DHHS, we may need to consider further action such as reduced contact in class (no hand shaking) or possibly cessation of classes for a period of time. However, these actions are not yet warranted. We may start to instigate precautionary practices earlier to ensure students become accustomed to them. Please continue to follow any specific instructions given to you by your class instructor and parents please remind your children to do so. This is an evolving situation and we will continue to seek guidance from the government health authority. A very important recommendation is to regularly wash your hands for 20 seconds and dry with a disposable paper towel or air dryer. Please wash your hands with soap and water before arriving at the dojo and when you leave. Remember to cough or sneeze into a tissue or your elbow if you do not have a tissue in reach. The following government website has up to date information https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/victorian-public-coronavirus-di Osu Kyoshi Pippa, Kyoshi Sandra and Kyoshi Tome
