18.01.2022 Thank you to these students who took the time out of their weekend to attend the catch up QKA Tournament that was cancelled due to COVID earlier this year. Sienna came 3rd in Kata & 1st in Kumite, whilst Riley came 2nd in Kumite. The others just missed out on medals, but performed really well today.

For the next 2 weeks you will get glimps back to my early days, where I’ll share stories of wanting to quit and overcoming those frustrations to be where I am today in my Karate Journey.

15.01.2022 15 years ago (20 November 2005) after serving a probationary period Suzuki Soke gave me permission to join him and to form Seiko-Kai in Australia. Little did I know that becoming his student would be the best decision I would ever make in my Karate life. Subsequently 11 years later (4 years ago) on the same date (20th November) he presented me with 8th Dan, the first non-Japanese person to receive this grade from him. Plans to celebrate the above with him in Japan unfortuna...tely couldn’t happen today due to Covid19. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey, especially Sharynn Sensei who has stood by allowing me to travel to Japan over 60 times to satisfy my hunger for knowledge. All she has asked for in return is her standard 3 bottles of Duty Free Vodka each trip

13.01.2022 Happy 84th Birthday to Suzuki Soke. He is fit and well, even with the large number of Corona cases in Tokyo. He worries about Covid19, but is hopeful that life can go back to normal soon. It was nice to hear his voice and to hear him being positive for the future.

07.01.2022 Very appreciative that we made it to the end of 2020. This year was not ideal, but it was better for us than many other Seikokai countries around the World. Online Zoom classes and our YouTube channel filled a void for a few months. These were an experience and something we hope won’t be needed again While we couldn’t celebrate 15 years of Seikokai in Australia, hold our annual Christmas in July or other functions due to Covid19, this photo is from better days that we h...ope will return soon. Let’s hope that by the end of 2021 Covid19 is a thing of the past and life is back to whatever the new normal maybe. Have a Merry Christmas, Happy and safe New Year everyone. Colin & Sharynn

05.01.2022 Important Notice During Covid19 restrictions we have not permitted spectators inside the centre and this continues to be the case. One of the clear positives this has brought to light is students ability to concentrate and not be distracted by parents/spectators during classes. With the warmer weather now upon us, we will naturally need to open the roller door to allow for adequate airflow to keep the inside temperature down. ... In saying this we ask that when you are outside watching the class, keep conversations to a whisper, do not gesture to your child nor communicate with them. While we under this is a natural human trait, it immediately breaks your child’s concentration and focus on their learning. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
