25.01.2022 Another Generations in Jazz (GIJ) has come and gone, and once again we have to say a huge thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who helped make the weekend event such a success. We are rounding out our eighth year at the event and each year we come together as a team to help make the event run as smoothly as possible. The money received from the GIJ organisers will go towards helping our school purchase a new mat for training.... Below are some of the wonderful volunteers who assisted through out the event.

25.01.2022 A huge congratulations to Shihan Phil, who celebrated 50 years in karate today. Everybody who knows Shihan Phil, understands the unfailing commitment and dedication he has shown Seishikan over his decades long karate career. Shihan Phil has not only dedicated 50 years to karate, but has also lived the spirit of Seishikan throughout that time and has been a wonderful example to the thousands of students he has taught throughout the years.... Congratulations Shihan!

24.01.2022 Congratulations to all the students who received their grading earlier this month. All the participants put in a wonderful effort on the day and the results are very well deserved.

21.01.2022 Seishikan Karate Mount Gambier held our annual summer camp in Kongorong this past weekend. The theme of the camp was the practice of the kata Seipai, with a focus on the self defence drills associated with the kata. We are also run several mediation breaks, which has been a popular feature of the camp since 2016. The instructors for the camp were Shihan Phil Bates and Shihan Alba Kratz, with Sensei Shannon Barton and Sensei Josh Smith from Little Hampton Dojo also teaching.... Thank you to everyone who travelled from across South Australia to attend the camp, and a special to John and Heather Von Stanke for their continued support and preparation of food for our morning tea and lunch breaks over the weekend. We look forward to seeing you all again next year.

14.01.2022 Seishikan Karate teachers and students joined forces over the weekend to remove the old stage at the Mount Gambier Senior Citizens Centre. The removal of the old stage will provide us with much needed room to train. A big thank you to the Braithwaite family and Linda Dodds for all your help on the day and to the Mount Gambier Senior Citizens for allowing to make changes to the centre layout.

11.01.2022 A huge thank you to the incredibly talented Aileen Sia, who made this amazing Oreo cheesecake for our end of year BBQ last Sunday. Believe it or not, it tasted even better than it looked!

07.01.2022 After eight years of hard work and dedication, Shihan Phil and Shihan Alba would like to say a huge congratulations to Angel Aguinaldo on receiving her 1st Dan black belt. Pictured below is Angel being awarded her very well deserved black belt by Shihan Phil and Shihan Alba in class earlier this month. Well done Angel!
