25.01.2022 How to beat cold and flu this winter. We have all heard the news of recent weeks with the Coronavirus outbreak in China, there is nothing worse than getting sic...k especially when it is some of the nastier virus that lurk around each year. I can hear you asking how do I stop from getting sick this year. Firstly I would like to say that sometimes you are just unlucky and getting a cold or flu is just going to happen, we can be exposed to viruses without us even knowing we were standing next to someone sick. In these instance I would say that preventing illness is much better than the cure. Other than eating your vegetables, getting enough sleep, exercising regularly I have a few handy tips that will hopefully help you to keep away from those pesky germs this year. Wash your hands often, I dont say this to make you OCD about hand washing but according to research 80% of infectious diseases are spread by touch. Before touching your face or eyes make sure you give your hands a wash. Carry size alcohol-based hand cleanser for on the go use is a great way to wash your hands when you need to. Disinfect shared surfaces such as keyboards and telephone especially if it is a shared office space or hotdesk situation, some viruses are infectious before people show symptoms so you can use antibacterial wipes to keep that keyboard and phone free from germs. Use tissues to cover your mouth/nose when coughing or sneezing. If you are unwell this will help stop it spreading to others. Hopefully we will all survive the year free from cold and flus. Overall using a planner/diary will make you more focused and more organised, it will also help you to remember those important jobs that we are constantly forgetting, I dont know how many times I have forgotten the milk.
