20.01.2022 While visiting the Hawkesbury oyster growers, saw they had oysters from three trials that SOCo and NSW DPI have in some estuaries: triploid SRO, SRO from the breeding program (last year class) and wild (control) oysters. We are waiting to see the data behind the trials but visually they all look extremely good! Hope everything is harvesting beautiful oysters up and down the coast! Best Christmas wishes from the SOCo board!

11.01.2022 The hard work of handling broodstock of all different family lines continues... an example from today's work at Wallis Lakes. Both growers and SOCo staff were quite pleased with how the stock is looking so far!

11.01.2022 Shame that oysters keep being stolen especially research oysters.

06.01.2022 The FRDC Board visited the oyster growers at the Hawkesbury this week. Bruce and Rob gave an overview of the disease outbreaks they have gone through since 2003 and the willingness to keep in the industry despite the ups and downs! Currently the growers are quite excited about the current performance of the SRO breeding program and the option of being able to participate in a FRDC-funded project that will allow the Hawkesbury industry to access Triploid Pacific stock with the latest gains of the ASI Pacific Oyster breeding Program.
