14.01.2022 Sometimes we are so busy that we just keep going and do not realize that we have "lost" what makes us, us. It's ok if you feel this way because you can find yourself again - trust me. It starts by slowly making any time possible to do something for you, something you enjoy such as a walk, bath, listening to music, watching a movie, reading a book. It is does not matter what it is and it does not matter how long you can do this from 5 min or if your able to find an hour. Doing... this will help you to focus in on who you are again and appreciate that you have needs and wants that are valid and as important as anyone else's. 14.01.2022 October the month of spreading awareness. A reminder to take 5-10mins out to do a Touch, Look, Check! Here’s how: Touch; Raise one hand above your head. With the flat of your fingers press into your breast, feeling for any changes, softly at first and then more firmly.... Check the entire breast area, from your collar bone to under your breast, and from the side of your breast up into you armpit. Repeat on the other breast. Look; With your hands on your hips, look at your breast in a mirror for their shape, colour and size. Then raise your arms above your head and check underneath the breast. Look for signs; skin changes, change in shape, new nipple inversion, dimpling on the skin or crusting on the nipple. Be aware of any discharge coming from the nipple (without squeezing). Check; If you find a change that doesn't feel or look normal, but it's important to get any concerning signs check out by your GP, even if you've had a mammogram recently. Most breast changes aren't caused by cancer but check with your doctor to be sure. This charity has worked tirelessly since 2005, raising money to fund breast cancer nurses in communities right around the country and to support Australian families facing breast cancer.
