25.01.2022 Bolu Kukus Mekar I seriously need to stay away from social media.. This afternoon I was scrolling on my social media on my lunch break, and come across this stuff.. ... And just like that, I set my mind I want to eat this today.. Well.. the thing about living abroad is, we don’t have that markets or shops where I can just go there and buy anytime I want.. So I have to make it before I can eat it. This steam sponge cake that we normally called Bolu Kukus Mekar is one of my childhood favourite.. It’s sweet, soft and fluffy definitely kids favourite.. I kind of glad because I still able to let my son eat all those food or snacks that I used to grow up with.. #bolukukusmekar #jajananpasar #indonesiansnack

23.01.2022 Black Forest (My way ) I wouldn’t claim this is the original Black Forest cake supposed to be, but this is how I like it.. This will be called Black Forest naked cake, coz there is no proper smooth finishing on the side of the cake.. ... WHY ? Coz it’s cool and rustic.. and becoz it’s easy finish and am bit lazy to do smooth finish yesterday Black Forest is a very popular cake, even when I was small.. though we wont see this cake so often, coz I don’t come from a family who eat cake often... This will only come out on special occasions, birthday most of the time.. Do you know that feeling when you crave for something, and you know if you make it then it will be too much and will take days to finished it?? Yeah, so yesterday was a perfect gathering occasion to bring this cake back to LIFE #blackforestcake #bringbackmemories

20.01.2022 Yam Steam Bun (Mantau) I remember as a kid my late Mum used to feed me breakfast with Mantau or pack it for my lunch bag.. She don’t make this Mantau, she can just buy the frozen one and steam it whenever needed.. Although it was frozen, the taste was sooo good ... So living abroad, I thought all the frozen mantau will taste the same.. I’ve tried lots of brand that I can find in Asian Groceries Shop.. Non is reaching my expectations.. So here I am, making my own steam bun that I love so much as a kids.. Ps. My son loves it too.. he requested to pack this everyday for his lunchbox

01.01.2022 Regal Pudding Easter break, doesn’t make my kitchen stop cooking.. There is more demand than ever from the residence of this house coz got nothing to do..... As Indonesian, we are not used to have cake as desserts.. Not saying we dont eat cakes, but just not as much as western cultures.. But we do eat puddings (jelly kind if pudding, not the traditional British style of baked puddings) And lots of people get so creative and mixing some sponge cake, fruits, even biscuits in the puddings.. This one is 3 layer of puddings with Marie Biscuits.. both are my favourite childhood foods, and to combine it together like this.. Even better !!
