22.01.2022 Congratulations to all our Nippers - we formally wrapped up the 2019/20 season with presentations last Saturday. It was great to see 200+ people enjoying the day. A special mention to the U13's who have finished their final year as Nippers. With many of them already having completed their Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) they are sure to go on and be valued members of our surf life saving community. 20.01.2022 The 2020/21 season is upon us and as such, as defined by the Semaphore SLSC Constitution, all memberships became renewable as at 1st of September 2020. As per the By-Law change due to become effective on the 16th of September all memberships are required to be renewed by the 1st of October 2020. 16.01.2022 We are sure by now you would all be across the latest announcement from the State Government putting in place a 6-day state lock down followed by a further 8 days (14 days in total) of lesser restrictions. 16.01.2022 The Charles Sturt Council are reviewing the Community Land Management Plan at Pt Malcolm Reserve and Semaphore SLSC and have provided amended plans for review. The Council are seeking community feedback about the proposed plans. 13.01.2022 Helpers Requested for West Lakes Carols Set Up/Pull Down Hi All This year the West Lakes Rotary Club will again hold a Carols by the Lake Event on Barley Tce but on smaller scale on Sunday 6 December. It will be a primarily kids focus and only run from 5:00pm to 7:30pm. ... The Rotary Club has requested the assistance from Semaphore SLSC in the setup and pull down of the infrastructure for the event. The Rotary Club is a great supporter of our club and it is an opportunity to give something back to them. Help is needed on the day from 2pm (set up temporary fencing) and at its conclusion at 7.30pm (take down the temporary fencing). Both activities take about an 1 to 1.5 hours depending on the numbers. 06.01.2022 Junior Convenor Appointed We are pleased to introduce our new Junior Sport Officer (Junior Convenor) Matt Grygorcewicz. Many of you may know Matt as an Age Group Manager last season, an active patrolling member and passionate Semaphore SLSC club man. Matt is hitting the ground running preparing for the new Nipper season but requires the assistance of a Junior Sports Secretary. This role works side by side with Matt supporting the administration of our Nipper program and is ...a great way to get involved supporting your child and our Club. Interest is also sort from any parents who would like to join a Nipper Events team, this group will decide what social events are held for Nippers and will make them happen.
