24.01.2022 In a word neglect. There was no plan for aged care and the result was a tragedy.

22.01.2022 Today is a day to celebrate how far Australia has come as a nation - the strength of our communities and our diversity. It is also a day to reflect on and acknowledge the pain and dispossession inflicted on our First Australians. We should all use this day as an opportunity to learn about our history and take pride in the fact that Australia is home to the oldest surviving civilisation on Earth.... Thank you City of Holdfast Bay for paying respects to our First Australians today as we welcomed our newest citizens - congratulations to you all.

22.01.2022 The best thing about South Australia is the strength of our community. The next few days may be tough but that strength will see us through. If we work together, look out for each other and follow the advice we can get on top of this quickly. Stay safe and well.... The latest advice is available here: https://www.covid-19.sa.gov.au/response.

22.01.2022 This week we need to see a jobs plan from the Morrison Government to see Australians through the recession. These are Labor's priorities - they would create jobs today.

22.01.2022 Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. We must remember the atrocities of the Holocaust to ensure they are never repeated. And we all must act to stop prejudice and hatred from taking root.... #WeRemember

21.01.2022 Quarantine is Scott Morrison's job and there are economic consequences for his failure to act. It means our farmers can't bring in the workers they need. It means our businesses don't have certainty. ... And it means tens of thousands of #strandedAussies left behind.

21.01.2022 The experts are telling us what needs to be done - the AMA President has added his voice today. Jane Halton laid out options for federal quarantine in her report to the Government. So when will Scott Morrison stop passing the buck to the states and act?... https://www.smh.com.au//dedicated-camps-could-be-future-qu

21.01.2022 Thank you Patrick Dodson, Linda Burney and Senator Malarndirri McCarthy - Northern Territory. An honour to serve with you, learn from you and join you at today's smoking ceremony for #NAIDOC2020 Always was, always will be.

20.01.2022 New #KamalaConverse from my Senate sisters Kristina Keneally and Katy Gallagher. Thank you for this gift for my birthday - and your friendship every day.

20.01.2022 Now that it’s gone, it’s going to be a lot harder to survive really, and a lot harder to look for work. What kind of Government would cut crucial support in the middle of a recession?

19.01.2022 The planet is warming but Scott Morrison is frozen in time while economic opportunities pass us by. Australia's friends and allies, including the United States, have committed to net zero emissions by 2050. Why won't Scott Morrison?

18.01.2022 Congratulations to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on their inauguration. We welcome Joe Biden's commitment to working with allies, engaging in our region & reinvesting in US global leadership - including on climate. This is an opportunity to expand cooperation within the Australia-US alliance.

18.01.2022 I urge Senator Stirling Griff and Rebekha Sharkie MP to consider that year 12 students have already been forced to contend with so much this year. To pile on a fee hike which would see some courses cost twice as much could mean many students give up on university altogether. https://www.smh.com.au//south-australian-senators-pressure

17.01.2022 How many of the 8000 #strandedAussies became vulnerable as a result of the Morrison Government’s refusal to take responsibility for Federal quarantine so they could come home sooner?

14.01.2022 Before this week's barrage of Budget announcements, this is a must read. There's a term we used to use, but it's not very polite. So let's just say Scott Morrison is an "announcement artist".... A Prime Minister who is 100% photo op, 0% follow up. https://www.themonthly.com.au//nick-fe/announcement-artist

13.01.2022 This is just not good enough. This breach places vulnerable Australians at further risk. It also confirms #strandedAussies must be destitute to get any help from Scott Morrison - help that will only plunge them deeper in debt.... https://www.smh.com.au//safety-at-risk-labor-slams-dfat-pr

13.01.2022 South Australia needs jobs delivered now, not years down the line. But Scott Morrison is making announcements for projects that won't even start until after the next election if they ever happen at all. And he'll make new announcements before then hoping we'll forget this one.

12.01.2022 Dr Phoebe Mackenzie is right - with Scott Morrison there’s one set of rules for a privileged few, while everybody else gets left behind. We need a plan for safe federal quarantine to get Australians like Phoebe home.

11.01.2022 When we listen and learn, we can come to understand the true, rich history of the land we live on, the place this has been, and the country we could become. And we can understand the truth that for too long was not taught, of the many achievements of Aboriginal civilisation.

10.01.2022 At the last budget South Australia was promised $67.4m from the Urban Congestion Fund but the Morrison Government didn't deliver a cent. This week's headlines promise millions for SA roads but with a Government that's all announcement, no delivery we won't hold our breath.

10.01.2022 John Howard's advice on China to Scott Morrison is "find something that we agree on, and make a success of that". He says the relationship must be managed between our prime minister and China's president. There's a lot at stake. Australians need Mr Morrison to step up and deliver.

10.01.2022 The Royal Commission report into COVID-19 confirms the Morrison Government had no plan for COVID-19 in aged care. 665 aged care residents have died. The neglect in our aged care homes is a national tragedy. Scott Morrison can't keep walking away from his responsibilities.

10.01.2022 We hear a lot of announcements from Scott Morrison - this is what he actually delivered in September.

09.01.2022 Scott Morrison can't just duck his responsibility to protect older Australians and walk away. https://www.theguardian.com//brendan-murphy-admits-earlier

09.01.2022 A month has passed since Scott Morrison received a report on hotel quarantine spelling out how he could make more safe quarantine capacity available including using Federal facilities but he hasn't delivered the recommendations. #strandedAussies

08.01.2022 This has been a distressing day for South Australians, especially in the lead up to Christmas. If we follow the medical advice and care for each other, we will get through this latest challenge safely. Our friends in Victoria have shown what can be achieved if we work together. ... New restrictions begin from midnight tonight to limit the spread of COVID-19 in SA. If you feel unwell or show symptoms, please get tested. Details of where to get tested are available here: https://bit.ly/2IKPw7y.

07.01.2022 Labor congratulates Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on their victory in the US Presidential Election - a statement from Labor Leader Anthony Albanese, Deputy Leader Richard Marles MP and me:

07.01.2022 More #strandedAussies could be coming home if Scott Morrison would take some responsibility for Federal quarantine.

04.01.2022 Scott Morrison came to Adelaide and made time for a photo op at the zoo. But when he was asked if we would finally deliver for the 700 submarine maintenance workers whose jobs are on the line well, that's "not the priority".

04.01.2022 Statement from Labor Leader Anthony Albanese and me on developments in the US election.

02.01.2022 This week we're really going to see why Scott Morrison has earned a reputation as the "Announcement Artist". https://www.themonthly.com.au//nick-fe/announcement-artist

01.01.2022 An Albanese Labor Government will establish an Australian Centre for Disease Control, strengthening Australia's response to future pandemics. We can't be left playing catch-up again.
