23.01.2022 Delighted to announce on behalf of Dan Tehan MP $2 million for an important upgrade for St Patricks Primary School in Ballarat, which will deliver new classrooms, a new school hall and an upgraded school entrance with an all abilities access. In total, $10.2 million is being delivered under the latest round of the Capital Grants Program for schools in the Ballarat, Bendigo and Gorton electorates. These grants are really transformational - and are part of the $314.7 billion ...the Scott Morrison (ScoMo) Govt is providing to all schools from 2018-2029. 22.01.2022 Wonderful news for Viva Refinery with the announcement by Scott Morrison (ScoMo) and Angus Taylor MP of a new fuel security package which will drive very substantial investment into one of Geelong's most important employers. See https://sarahhenderson.com.au/boosting-australias-fuel-sec/ The Geelong refinery produces half of Victoria's liquid fuels and has been under immense pressure in recent months as a result of the Victorian Government's lockdown restrictions. 22.01.2022 Great news for Viva Refinery and the Geelong community. The Scott Morrison (ScoMo) Government's fuel security package for Australian refineries, announced today, will boost onshore fuel storage, protect and grow local jobs and enhance our national security. The long term viability of our refinery which produces half of Victoria's liquid fuels must be backed by Labor. So far we have seen a very disappointing response from Federal Labor MPs Richard Marles MP and Libby Coker MP who've done nothing to advocate for support from the state Labor Government. 21.01.2022 As a passionate advocate for faster rail, I am delighted the #Geelong Fast Rail Project is now underway. The Scott Morrison (ScoMo) Government’s $2 billion commitment to Stage 1 of this project, now matched by the State, will mean a faster and more direct commute to and from Melbourne. Importantly, this plan will provide a direct connection between Werribee and Geelong and take pressure off the Regional Rail Link. ... With the announcement of the Melbourne Airport Rail Link or #MARL, Geelong rail commuters will be able to travel directly to Melbourne Airport via Sunshine. Of course, I will continue to advocate for a dedicated station for Avalon Airport to support one of our region’s greatest assets. For more than ten years, I have championed the importance of investing in better roads, rail and airport infrastructure. Whether it be duplicating the Princes Highway, upgrading Barwon Heads Rd and the Great Ocean Road, building Avalon Airport’s international terminal, upgrading the South Geelong to Waurn Ponds rail line or delivering Geelong fast rail, I am extremely proud of how our Government has led the charge on so many major infrastructure projects for our region. 16.01.2022 #BUDGET2020: Wonderful news for the Geelong region and local jobs - the Scott Morrison (ScoMo) Government will deliver $292m for the Barwon Heads Rd upgrade and $604m of budget spending will be brought forward for the Geelong rail duplication. The duplication of the Barwon Heads Rd between Settlement Road and Reserve Road will involve a grade separation over the rail line and intersection upgrades, making this major road connection to Armstrong Creek and the Bellarine Penins...ula faster and safer. The Geelong Rail Duplication involves the duplication of the track between Waurn Ponds and South Geelong, second platforms for Waurn Ponds, Marshall and South Geelong stations and grade separations at Surfcoast Highway and Fyans St, delivering faster and more reliable train services. While Stage 1 is underway which is the construction of a second platform at Waurn Ponds and some trackwork, this will allow major works including the duplicated track to commence much earlier than anticipated. 08.01.2022 Victorians should be seriously concerned about some provisions of the COVID-19 Omnibus (Emergency) and Other Acts Amendment Bill 2020 (Vic) which are now before the Victorian Legislative Council. If passed by Parliament, these provisions would confer powers that would allow citizens to indefinitely detain a person suspected of being COVID-19 positive or a close contact, based only on a belief that such a person might not comply with an emergency direction. This appears to be another very disturbing breach of human rights imposed by Victorian Labor. These provisions must not become law. See my interview with Chris Kenny.

03.01.2022 A wonderful $384k funding boost for the #Ballarat International Foto Biennale, part of the Scott Morrison (ScoMo) Government’s $75m RISE program to boost the arts sector, supporting 44,000 jobs. Terrific to visit the Biennale’s new home in Lydiard St. Along with the incredible $10.1 million the Morrison Liberal Party of Australia Government is providing for Stage 1 for Sovereign Hill - for the Centre for Rare Arts and Forgotten Trades (CRAFT) and the Australian Centre for Gold Collections - Ballarat is really punching above its weight in its investment in the arts and creative industries.
