23.01.2022 #sendhertosuperman #update We have now BOOKED in Graces surgery and flights for the family in January 2020. This would absolutely not have been possible without your generous and continued support, so thank-you from the bottom of our hearts. Whilst we obviously plan to contribute our own funds, along with what has already been fundraised (some funds still pending) - our total costs are still somewhat unknown. Ontop of our hospital costs, we also have to consider our ...accommodation and living expenses for several months. With that said, we wanted to make you aware of one LAST raffle which will be drawn next week. At every Mood Food store in Tassie you can buy raffle tickets and go in the draw to win $2000 CASH, $1500 fuel and a dozen bottles of Home Hill wine. To assist Mood Food with their fundraising, we will now accept raffle ticket purchase through Graces mycause page (click on the link below in comments.) Or purchase your hard copy ticket in store, eftpos is available. *** If you wish to purchase via mycause, simply donate $20 with a comment stating your name, number and raffle. We will fill in a ticket with your details and text you a screenshot. The winner will be drawn at 7hofm next Wednesday morning. Thanks again, we look forward to sharing with you happy news in the future when Grace receives her surgery.

23.01.2022 2019 honestly I dont even know where to start! What a challenging 12 months, a rollercoaster of a ride for sure, many highs and many lows. Its challenged us in so many ways, pushed us to many limits, and we have hit rock bottom many times. But we have got back up everytime all for you Grace The last 12 months we have remained focused on Grace and because of this, determination, motivation, sacrifice, we are happy to announce we have raised 421k in total for Grace. I am ...in tears writing this as I am so proud, proud of us for setting a huge challenge and conquering it but also proud to live in such an amazing community! Honestly the generosity of everyone who has supported us, made a donation (even those who could only help in a little way), helped organise events, and those who have checked in on us and given us emotional support we cannot thank you all enough. Without you all we would not have been given the opportunity to save our little girl. There is just way too many people to individually thank so we thank you all. In 3 weeks we leave for USA. No doubt this is going to be by far our most challenging, but we are ready, we are ready to hit this head on and give our little girl a life she deserves, a life full of happiness and a life for us without this horrible condition constantly pulling us down with worry! Although its been tough we have learnt so much, we go through tough times but we come out stronger I feel for it...we will do everything and anything for our kids. Gracie you are such a loved little girl we are all behind you baby, your strong happy, sassy, cheeky and determined personality will get you through this. This yr will be our best yet I just know it. Happy New year everyone See more

23.01.2022 Thank you to all the sponsors, all the people who donated prizes and everyone who brought a ticket. Congratulations to all the winners https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2193805217590021&id=238080009586575

23.01.2022 For 4 yrs we have been told that Grace does not have a portal vein and that she is inoperatable, BUT today Superina has told us not only does she have a portal vein but a beautiful one that he believes he can restore flow too, currently the Abernathy is taking all the blood flow. So at 6am tomorrow Grace will have her 1st operation, it will be done in two stages, one tomorrow and the other Monday to shut the Abernathy. Once complete this will then correct her portal flow to ...her liver and if all goes well we will have a happy healthy girl at the end. He said that correcting this condition as early as possible is the key to preventing many health problems in the future, i am just so glad we made the decision to pursue this and come to Chicago as soon as we could. To say we are relieved is an understatement. All our determination, hard work, persistence and flying to the other end of the world has given us a reason to believe now we can fix this. Thank you again to all our donators, supporters in giving us this opportunity to save our little Grace The next few days will be tough but will keep the updates coming when we can, but our priority is Grace and getting through this really tough time See more

22.01.2022 So I got to witness this beautiful pure soul on Sunday. Wow she is amazing ... I was lost for words one of the best Ive seen! Give her a like and spread the word around this girl will go places, she donated her time to play for Gracie on Sunday https://www.facebook.com/TogetherweBlloom/

21.01.2022 What a day...Grace went into her second stage surgery today around 6pm, it was a long and nervous wait. We got the call to come back around 8pm ( less than 2 hours later). Superina come out to tell us the good news, all went well and she now has her Abernathy completely closed and her portal vein is flowing beautifully. He said its the most beautiful portal vein he has ever seen. I never though that one sentence would lift so much weight and bring us so much relief, joy and... the biggest smile on our faces. I squeezed Superina so hard I think he nearly stopped breathing poor man . Gracie has been the best patient so brave and strong throughout all this. We as parents are suppose to teach our kids everything but I can honestly say this little girl has taught me and us all so much. Strength, determination but most importantly to always follow your instincts. Thank you everyone for your messages of love and support we could not have done it without you all. A big thank you to Superman, Ann and Robert Lurie Hospital nurses and staff, and Andrew Humphreys for making this all possible. We cannot thank you enough for your ongoing support. There is so many people to thank, all our friends and family and everyone who donated because without you none of this would have been possible. Thank you everyone. Love the Streets See more

21.01.2022 Stage 1 done, Grace has come through it like a champion Gracie is still asleep and sedated but all went well. Superman is really happy with the progress so far. The Abernathy is now partly closed and he even said the blood is now going through her liver which is exactly what needed to happen. Today was the toughest day of our lives ...No sleep last night or today and we have spent the whole day waiting for the phone to be told she was ok...what a day! We didnt know wha...t to expect but she is looking really well. Grace has no breathing tube and did not require a blood transfusion which was great. Now lots of rest for Gracie and for us to spend time holding her little hand and being by her bedside. Thanks to Aimee for watching Isaac today and Lyndon, Mel, my mum, dad and family for caring for Elana during this time. On Monday Superman will completely close the Abernathy and if all goes well then into recovery. Thank you to everyone for all the messages, love and support we have been overwhelmed by all the love we have received and best wishes for Grace We are so proud of our girl x See more

We have been told by many nurses that Gracie is their best patient , no fighting, complaining or crying shes doing everything they ask. We honestly could not be prouder Even Superina said she is his easiest Abernathy Patient. We have stage 2 tomorrow then onto recovery. We are all hoping and praying tomorrow goes just as well as stage 1 Thank you all again for all the lovely messages and best wishes x

17.01.2022 So many people said your crazy!! You wont do it, its impossible, so many doubts, anxiety levels at there highest. Relationships put under amense pressure, so many risks and the constant thought of us failing being able to achieve our goal and save our girl. One of the hardest parts having to put our pride behind us and ask for help, anyone who knows me and Chris know this is not what we do. We knew we had to give our everything for our girl and today 12 months exactly we l...aunched our Saving Little Grace Fundraiser. Not only did we conquer and raise the much needed funds we have been over and back with our happy, strong brave and healthy girl who today is kicking goals like you would not believe. Graces liver function, ammonia is all back to normal and she is living a normal happy life with a liver that is doing exactly what it should. Grace is enjoying Kinder and enjoying exploring and having lots of fun. We are looking forward to getting back over to Superman when safe to do so, we keep in close contact with him and talk on a regular basis all tests are sent to him to assess and look over currently. We just wanted to thank everyone again who supported us because without you all this post may have been entirely different and not such a happy ending for our little Grace. We still have a road ahead and we need to monitor to be sure that the vein keeps on doing what it should but for now its happy days and we are all living life to the fullest So proud of our girl. Our stars were shining bright for us, we could not be happier x Once all restrictions with COVID 19 are over we will be organising a thank you for everyone who supported us, a party to celebrate will keep you posted x See more

16.01.2022 Today we have been DISCHARGED from Hospital. Grace is over the moon...14 days in Hospital and its time to leave. We still have many appointments to attend and follow up checks to complete but will be lovely for us to be all together at Ronald Mc Donald home again especially Grace and Isaac. Thanks again to everyone for all the love and support and to all those that contributed to helping us get Grace here without you all this would not have been possible. We are now hoping and praying Grace will live a happy, long and healthy life just as she deserves We honestly could not be prouder of this little girl and all she has achieved

16.01.2022 Just a reminder we have the Fundraiser today at the RSL for Grace if anyone would like to purchase some Body Shop or Lorraine Lea linen. 11am-2pm. 16.01.2022 Hi everyone, Just wanted to give everyone a little update on whats happening with our little Grace. We were suppose to be travelling back to Chicago next week for a check up but due to the Covid 19 we are unable to travel. We have had a CT and Ultrasound here in Tasmania and it has now been sent to Superman for assessment. Our Hobart doctors have advised that all Graces results are normal. Her ammonia and liver function is now normal. Everything is normal. We could not be happier. Grace could not be happier. We just need to wait till it is safe to travel back to USA for a check up which wont be too far away we hope. We are thinking of everyone during this Covid 19 and hope everyone is staying safe and healthy

15.01.2022 If anyone can help little Quinn out she would be forever grateful. Just another example of a child being left here in Aus, the watch and wait method in full swing, this is disgraceful and the Aus medical and Aus Govt should be ashamed to have left this child this long. This child needs surgery before its too late, too sick to travel overseas to Chicago now!!! This makes me so angry and something has to change. These parents have reached out to me for support and the least I can do is share my experience and share their story here. If everyone could please share and donate if possible. Thank you https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2731283527157105&id=100008264539245

Thank you again to everyone for all the love, support during the last 12 months, we honestly could not be happier x Here are some pictures of our stay Home Bound!

11.01.2022 Day 12 and we are now down to only one IV left. Grace is now eating foods and taking liquids much better today. Grace is walking around and almost back to her happy self. Hopefully if everything continues we will be discharged from Hospital in the coming days. Grace has been very popular with the nurses at Lurie Childrens and they all love her eyes and her smile. Superman has nicknamed her Tassie Devil They cannot believe how well she has recovered considering the major operation she has had. We could not be happier

10.01.2022 Today is 2 days post stage 1 operation. Grace is doing so well. CT has revealed that the portal vein is flowing well and all her measurements/tests are excellent. We are so very proud of our princess. Now waiting for her second stage on Monday. Superman has said he is really happy with her progress and thinks she is recovering exceptionally well. We are all praying that everything continues to go smoothly over the coming week Here are a few pictures of our time in Hospital so far.

09.01.2022 Yesterday Grace experienced delirious which was horrible but quiet normal due to all the meds and being in a hospital bed for so long. BUT today we have got her out of her bed into a chair, we are happy and smiling again, our little Gracie is feeling much better today. Today we are leaving the ICU and heading to a normal hospital ward. We could not be happier or prouder of this girl

05.01.2022 Today we would like to share some great news with all our followers. Over the last 2 weeks Grace has had bloods, MRI, Echo and Ultrasound to check how the vein is going post surgery. We are so happy to let you all know that after 8 months everything is all still normal, we could not be happier We are looking forward to going back to Chicago to see Superman when it is safe to do so, but for now all is well x We have a phone appointment with Superman in coming weeks for him to review all her current results and to discuss if we can now take Grace off her blood thinners. 04.01.2022 WE HAVE SOME EXCITING NEWS Tomorrow night (Yes Christmas night) at 7pm on Channel 9 we will be sharing our story on A Current Affair- A Christmas Special. We are very excited to be able to share this nationally and with the world, how our little state of Tasmania has rallied together to Save our Little Grace. We could not be prouder of what we have achieved, it has been overwelming the love and support we have been provided...there is honestly not enough words to e...xpress how thankful we truly are We honestly did not think it was possible! But belief, determination and so much love for this girl has made it possible. It has been by far the most challenging time in our lives and many more challenges to come no doubt, but we are now equipt to deal with whatever is thrown at us Due to the timing and ACA doing our story our Stoopid Challenge Holiday winner will now be announced on the 20th Jan. 03.01.2022 Hi everyone, Just wanted to give a little update on little Grace. We have been home now for a few weeks and all is going really well so far. Grace has contracted a little infection in her scar today but a dose of antibiotics should clear this up quickly, its pretty common we have been told. We hope we have got it early enough to stop it getting any worse. We are starting to plan for our next trip to Superman for her first check up in May, subject to being safe to fly with the Coronavirus. Will keep everyone posted on our follow. Our little Gracie is kicking some goals, putting weight back on and smiling as always, she is living life to the fullest and we are enjoying being back home all together
