25.01.2022 Senexus was proud to attend the wonderful launch of Solving the Aged Care Puzzle by passionate Adelaide author Gail Miller. Gail provides a simple-to-read guide on navigating your way through the residential aged care process. To order your copy please visit http://solvingtheagedcarepuzzle.com/

24.01.2022 Principal of Senexus, David Coluccio, was able to enjoy a wide-ranging discussion with Hon Christopher Pyne MP, Minister for Defence Industry and Leader of the House at the launch of the wonderful Regis Aged Care last night. David was able to impress upon Minister Pyne the importance of ACFI reform in residential aged care and the necessity of better recognising the cost of caring for people living with dementia.

19.01.2022 This study’s approach was fairly successful at predicting the likelihood of someone developing dementia over the coming year.

16.01.2022 How trying to care for a parent at home may actually result in poor outcomes for both the carer and the parent - despite the best of intentions.

16.01.2022 Senexus principal, David Coluccio, was pleased to receive an exclusive preview this morning of the new Regis Aged Care currently under construction. Pictured here with Site Manager, Claudio Spiti, the new Regis Burnside will be stellar aged care experience. We are eagerly awaiting its launch in early 2018.

14.01.2022 Senexus, along with many consumer advocates, is excited about the the deregulation of home care packages which was introduced at the beginning of the month. We expect that giving people the ability to simply switch underperforming service providers will deliver a vast improvement in the range and quality of services available for older Australians.

12.01.2022 Senexus is proud to be a part of this great initiative from the City of Port Adelaide Enfield Council. If you are have an elderly loved one whose care needs are continuing to grow then this a worthwhile opportunity to learn from the experts about how to navigate through the aged care system.

08.01.2022 Caregiving can be a highly rewarding experience. But, undoubtedly it is tough, demanding, and exhausting. Senexus has seen plenty of loving children brought to the point of breakdown through caring for an ageing parent. Here is some great guidance.

08.01.2022 Senexus is extremely pleased to hear that the Federal Court has ruled in favour of the Department of Human Services against Regis Aged Care. The levying of Asset Replacement Charges (ARC) by Regis and Japara was blatantly in contravention of the Aged Care Act. This ruling is a tremendous win for aged care residents and their families and a vindication for the vocal line that Senexus has taken in speaking out against such charges. Senexus will look forward to re-commencing the referral of clients to Regis aged care homes upon confirmation that the ARC has been removed from resident agreements.

07.01.2022 There is no 100% guaranteed way to prevent the onset of dementia. However, these insights are useful. In particular, Senexus likes to encourage clients to engage in social interaction and activities, both as a prevention strategy and to maintain quality of life. https://www.facebook.com/abcnews.au/videos/10155124591287378/

06.01.2022 We love this at Senexus! Having seen aged care homes trial this overseas, with great success, we are glad to see integrated pre-school care and aged care being introduced in Australia. Great outcomes for the residents, the kids and both their families.

05.01.2022 Senexus principal, David Coluccio, was privileged to be the guest speaker this afternoon at afternoon tea with residents of The Sands Retirement village at Seaford. Residents were appreciative for the insights to the aged care system and asked many intelligent questions. A big thank you to Chair of the residents association, Pam Castle (pictured), for the invitation.

04.01.2022 The 2017 National Immunisation Program (NIP) seasonal influenza (flu) vaccines are being distributed around Australia. The flu can have severe consequences for older people. The vaccination is free under the NIP for anyone aged 65 years and over. If you are over 65 years, or have an elderly parent, contact your GP next week to enquire about your free flu vaccine.

01.01.2022 Aged care homes are using additional services to differentiate themselves. They might be better served by building a reputation for high quality care.
