23.01.2022 A few more tips. 1. You can open the Start menu by typing the Windows key. 2. You can switch from one open program to the next by typing Alt + Tab (hold the Alt key down while tapping the Tab key). 3. When someone sends you some shocking email and requests you pass it on to ‘everyone you know’: don’t. Such emails are almost invariably hoaxes. You can check on the truth at www.snopes.com, the best source of information on email myths. Search for the subject of the email... or a phrase from the body of the message. 4. You can tap the Space Bar to scroll down on a Web page one screen at a time. Use the Shift key with the Space Bar to scroll up. 5. You can use Google to do math for you. Type an equation you want the answer to and hit Enter (use * for multiplication and / for divide) Type a question if you want to do a conversion. For example, ‘how many liters in 100 gallons’; ‘how many hours in a year’. 6. Whatever technology you buy today will be obsolete tomorrow. Buy the best you can afford that meets your needs now. Future-proofing is largely a myth. See more

To turn it on and change its size and colour, go to Start > Settings > Ease of Access > Text cursor. Change Pointer colour. There is a great choice of colours.

02.01.2022 Stay Safe! Stay home and brew a cup o tea When the world is all at odds And the mind is all at sea, Then cease the useless tedium And brew a cup of tea....... There is magic in its fragrance, There is solace in its taste; And then laden moments vanish Somewhere into space. And the world becomes a lovely thing! There's beauty as you see; All because you briefly stopped To brew a cup of tea. See more
