14.01.2022 Hi everyone. SOSWA members had a good morning at our meeting on Thursday. After our usual delicious morning tea and chat we got down to the serious business of enjoying ourselves with the many and various games available. That was a bit different from the previous weeks craft morning, where glue, feathers and string was everywhere. A big WELCOME to our newest members. Come and join us. #SOSWA #Meeting #Tea #Chat #Games #Craft #feathers #string #comeandjoinus

13.01.2022 Well, here we are already half way through January, 2019. Seniors will be back at the Community Hall on 7th February 2019 when the schools are open for their first term. The Seniors group have been busy during this Christmas break meeting for coffee, going to local picnic areas for bbqs, and we also went to a morning with the children at After School Care in the Community Centre. I know we all enjoyed our time playing Bingo and UNO and just listening to some of their ideas. ...They showed us a dance they have been practicing. There has been continued interest shown by locals to join our group & we look forward to getting to know them. We will be planning new places to go, new activities and plenty of smiles & laughter. Some of the places we have visited for the day were Mundaring Weir, Sturt Park Kalamunda, Toodjay, Woodbridge Park, Middle Swan Reserve, & Lilac Hill. All of them have been very pleasant, with seating, bbqs and toilet facilities plus the local flora & fauna. Just strolling along the paths, being near the river with good company is so calming and uplifting. Its hard to take a smile off your face. Lets all look forward to a happy 2019" See more

12.01.2022 Hi everyone, School Holidays are starting this Friday so our meetings at the hall will have to wait until school resumes. This is not going to stop our intrepid seniors though, we have already sorted out three outings for the next 2 weeks. We went to Altone Park "Aging Disgracefully" and it was most informative with lots of vendors showing their wares and the entertainers were excellent. Not so sure about the exercise program. The lecturer talked about Brain Plasticity and Chronic Pain and the progress being made in those fields. We also enjoyed both the morning tea and Lunch that was provided and decided we are definitely going again next year. Looking forward to seeing everyone in the new term. New faces are very welcome.

12.01.2022 Happy New Year Wishing you all a successful 2019

12.01.2022 Thought I would send a recipe out once or twice a week. They will be nice & easy but tasty & suitable for one or two people, also some that can be made ahead & frozen. I know sometimes I just cant be bothered cooking.

11.01.2022 Hi everyone, the Seniors of Stratton WA have been busy the last few weeks. We had a craft day and the men joined in and met the challenge. It was great fun. A farewell luncheon to one of our members who left us to be with her family in the eastern states was held at the Woodbridge hotel. An excellent lunch with plenty of choices on the menu. Service was very good. Recommend popping in for lunch. Our games day was enjoyable & I noticed a bit of friendly rivalry. There w...as Scrabble, dominos & solitaire. Cards, small jigsaws and Quoits. There was something for everyone. I must also mention our morning tea - they are delicious & different every week. How lucky are we to have such clever cooks. Come join us and meet our friendly members. Remember to help each other, ask the question. Are you OK? #JaneBrook #Stratton #SwanView #midland #Midvale #MiddleSwan See more

11.01.2022 Location, Percheron entrance. Hello, this is a friendly post, please no cat bashing. I love cats myself so am interested to know if anyone knows who this lovely... long haired ginger belongs to? For about three or four weeks this cat has been pining for attention (or food?) At our front and back door, and has quite the vocals to do so! We only have one neighbour the side and one to the back, although we don't know either of them, I highly doubt it's theirs and don't feel comfortable approaching in person. Only wondering if I should take it to the vet or ranger for microchipping? Has lovely coat but some matting around the head and scar on its ear, so maybe a stray? No collar. Location Percheron Entrance. See more

01.01.2022 Hi everyone, here we are at the end of another year. These last few months have been busy for our senior's group. We have been finding new parks and restaurants which has been lots of fun and very relaxing. Spending time with the group is proving to be very good for the soul. When we are not going out we have our quiz days and game days which keep our minds ticking over. We have been to Mundaring Weir, Melbourne Cup luncheon at the Swan View Tavern. Christmas in July was great fun at the Penny Garden, Toodjay was a nice day checking the local area and visiting the Christmas Shop. Watch for some of our photos coming up soon.
