19.01.2022 BREATHWORK I've recently noticed a lot of interest in breathing coming from many different angles, including health & wellbeing, emotional regulation and high-performance. The linked article gives a few specific examples. The old yogis probably delved deeper into breathwork than anyone else, ever. They called the practice 'pranayama', meaning 'controlled breathing'. They understood how to use breathing as leverage into your mind how to train your 5 minds (observing, thinki...ng, emotional, body and spiritual) so that your whole life goes better. We're running a breath workshop soon where you'll learn some of this ancient knowledge and the practices to start improving your life immediately and we'll frame the whole thing in the latest medical and scientific understanding of the body and mind. Its just that the jitter of our existence, our thermal energy, is too large for these quantum vacuum fluctuations to affect our motion measurably. 16.01.2022 It looks like they’re walking in slow-mo, right?!? But actually, they’re mindfully walking*. ... This is a great group from SEQUAL doing some Covid-safe mindfulness training yesterday afternoon in a park. * Btw, you don’t have to walk slowly to walk mindfully! In fact, you could practice ‘mindful sprinting’. (I’m sure the fastest sprinters in the world are!) But it can be useful to slow things down at first to re-engage with the subtlety and nuance of what it *feels* like to walk - something we do so often, but generally have very little awareness of. Chances are you’re going to walk somewhere pretty soon...make it a practice!
