25.01.2022 With 54 days until Christmas, I thought I would do this post to give you some tips on getting organised. Christmas Prep How ready are you for Christmas? With 54 days until the big day, now is a great time to think through the to-do list and give you some useful tips:... Prepare, Prepare, Prepare Start now. Yes, you heard me clearly and correctly, start NOW. Break down the massive task list into bite size pieces and start! Make a shopping list. Think about what to buy each person you are buying for, set a budget and be realistic. Shopping online can be a great help if you are time poor. Try and buy practical gifts. Gift vouchers are always a winner, especially with teenagers! With gifts, I love the following idea: * Something they want lego, dolls house, xbox, Barbie etc * Something they need school supplies, dance outfit, soccer boots * Something to read * Something to do board game, experience (zoo pass, indoor play centre voucher, tickets to something), movie tickets * Something to wear pjs, swimmers, shorts, skirt, dress Write up your Christmas card list and write them out. I find using a similar paragraph and tweaking saves on time. Type up your list and save it for next year. Don’t forget to make a list of names and addresses. If this is too overwhelming, thing about getting some printed through a website like vistaprint.com.au. Christmas food shop allocate a date close to Christmas. Think before hand of your menu and make a list. You can also do this online to save the crowds! For non-perishable items, start now by buying these items and keeping a box in your pantry to store them in (biscuits, chips, dips, sauces) Preparing Home Start your home declutter clear the spare room, especially if you have interstate or overseas family staying. Making sure your guest room is clean, tidy, guests have draw/hanging space makes their stay enjoyable and special. Declutter the toys to make space for new toys. Get the kids involved. Give good working and condition toys to hospitals, children’s homes, women’s shelters etc. Encourage your kids to think about less fortunate kids. Another great idea is to introduce the Kmart (and other shops do this) Christmas Tree where you buy a gift for a child. Make this a family tradition. A week or few days before Christmas day, think about making sauces that you can freeze, cakes or treats etc. Organise drinks, nibbles or non perishable foods. Charge batteries for cameras, make sure you have batteries for toys/gifts,. When wrapping presents, allocate each member of the family a different type of paper. This makes it visually pretty under the tree but also means finding presents easy, especially for kids. Get the kids to make the paper using butchers paper and paint. A great school holiday project! Clear and lay the table the day before. Once the table is set, it makes the room look finished and you can give yourself the night before off! Mostly enjoy time with family and friends.

22.01.2022 Saw this on my way to my client this morming - how many gnomes do you think are here?

19.01.2022 Garage Organisation In this garage we found lots of things this client had forgotten about. We were able to throw a lot of stuff that just wasn't needed - old broken kitchen drawers, broken plastic tubs, broken bags, stuff from past lives and loads of donations. We repacked boxes ready to be moved to the new home when that time comes, labelled those boxes so its easy to tell what's in them and resealed them well. The same for the big bags.... Client was delighted with the result of the garage - especially now the mower is easy to get in and out! We'd love to help you - get in touch with how we can help you today!

19.01.2022 It's so lovely to be back after 2 weeks holiday! Getting away to the beach really does wonders for the soul doesn't it! Back into paperwork today and clients from tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to seeing and helping people.

17.01.2022 Even in the shade it's hot! Quick bite before my next client. What are your plans for the weekend?

16.01.2022 I call this bag my survival kit. It lives in the boot of my car and has saved me many a time. It contains a change of clothes per child (including undies), a jumper for each member of the family, a plastic bag, hats, sunscreen (not in the photo but normally in the bag), wipes, sanitizer and 1 towel. Do you have a survival kit? If you don't, I challenge you to make one up for your family today! Tell us if you do have one what's in yours?

12.01.2022 Today is Stress Awareness Day. When we are faced with a challenge, our body experiences stress. Whether you’re dealing with your home environment that is chaotic and out of control or you feel overwhelmed you can't find things when you need or want them, or face struggles in your life or relationship because of the clutter and chaos in your home that leave you in a state of constant worry. You're not alone. If you are overwhelmed by the chaos in your home, here are some sugge...stions on things to try: Call a friend to come and help you, motivate and encourage you as you declutter spaces or areas around your home. Put some music on and start with a drawer or shelf. It could be the mug drawer or cupboard, it could be the junk drawer. The hardest thing to do is just start. Give yourself a time limit. Setting a time limit is a great way of keeping you on track to achieve a small goal but to also know there is an end date. It's amazing what you can achieve in 10-15 minutes! Don't beat yourself up - It's amazing that you started and did something. If you didn't finish or got side tracked, it's ok. Come back to this task when you get some more time and finish it then. If you are really very overwhelmed and don't know where to start, a professional organiser would love to come and help you. Get in touch with me today for a complimentary 15 minute chat about how we can help you overcome the chaos in your home. #professionalorganiser #sensibly_organised #professionalorganisersydney #stressawarenessday #overcome
