25.01.2022 This is Rohan and Rohan was feeling very worried about going into year 3. Until his amazing mum Kath decided Rohan would be The Social Detective (thanks @SocialThinking and Michelle Garcia Winner!). His classmates wrote down all of their questions about Year 3 and Rohans job is to go to the current year 3 classes, find the answers and share them with his class! Rohan isnt worried anymore and is enjoying his challenge immensely! Thank you to Kath and Rohan for sharing this wonderful idea!

20.01.2022 The Telethon Kids institute is starting some exciting new research and they need your help! They are aiming to: 1) investigate traits of autism within families, and... 2) seek to make the perspectives and the stories of grand-parenting in the context of autism in their family heard. Can you help?? We are looking for individuals, who have a child with autism and who have a grandchild (18+ months) through a daughter without autism. This is a challenging population to reach, therefore any help in reaching out to the community is appreciated. See the link below if you can help or know someone who can!

13.01.2022 https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/the-kai-botsis-charitable-a The Botsis family who have had a very successful experience of early intervention with their beautiful son Kai, have set up a charitable association and are organizing a wonderful fundraising cocktail evening on August 19th. They have put so much work into developing this event and it is going to be fantastic, so many people have donated goodies and prizes it is quite something to see what will be on offer on the ...night!. The monies raised are going to go towards supporting parents who have exceptional children who require early intervention at a particularly challenging time when there is often a lot of uncertainty and need for high support. We are so fortunate that we have the privilege of working with very special families like the Botsis family and seeing how families benefit so much from getting the right support at the time that they need it and how this can have enormously beneficial impact on the lives of their children and their families. Empowering and supporting parents in their most important job of parenting their exceptional children is right at the heart of the work we do at Sensory Connections and what we are so passionate about!. Please do visit the link and send this on to your contacts and networks. Hope to see you there! Kathy and SCOTS team!. See more

06.01.2022 At Sensory Connections we feel very strongly about play and the importance of play. "Play is a child's work". Early Childhood Australia - WA is seeking endorsement for their WA Play Strategy initiative. This initiative aims to deliver a state government lead play strategy needed to protect children's right to play, particularly across Kindergarten and Pre-Primary. Click below for more information, to endorse this initiative and read the discussion paper identifying the serious concerns about the erosion of play in early Childhood!
