25.01.2022 Meet Clinton one of our senior artists at Sentient Computing. Clinton first started with Sentient in 2011 and took a break to travel and work for a 3D studio in London. In 2019 he returned to Perth and rejoined our team last year and has had a new focus on researching and testing new technology. 24.01.2022 Regular Tech Days allows our team Sentient Computing to have some fun and stay innovative such as the development of Head Gestures in #vrtraining by team member; Laurence. This tool enables the identification of specific movements made by the players head in #VR beyond just head shakes and nods. We have found it was particularly useful for a project involving safety signals with head torches in an underground mine environment. We are looking forward to seeing what our team comes up with for our next tech day.

21.01.2022 Our #VR headsets have been covering some mileage; last week Scott Dumaresq was able to be a part of Origin Energys safety week. Employees, major contractors and local power stations were invited to Eraring Power Station to get a hands on experience with the Oculus Quests. Participants were able to try the technology and have an insight for the possibility of using this technology for training purposes. 20.01.2022 The Sentient team created a game for the recent #RTS2019 conference. Our purpose for creating this, was to demonstrate to a very diverse audience of age and #VR technology exposure an environment of a mine site in a fun and engaging way. The Conveyor game was designed to be approximately 2 mins long and participants had to sort iron ore rocks into the correct haul trucks to gain points. We realised that we could help make a difference during the Covid-19 outbreak and we sincerely thank NERA for the funding to support us. We are particularly excited to announce that our game has been welcomed by doctors around Australia! Dr Patrick Mosse, a GP in Sydney praises innovation to help families at a confusing time.... We need to start the conversation with our kids as the restrictions lift and we send them out into the community: to school, on their bike and playing with other kids. Dr Prachi Dadeech a GP in Melbourne continues, Its so important for our kids to mix with others for their development and for their mental health. Dr Bonnie Darlow, a GP Registrar in the Gold Coast adds, However, things ARE different, and we need to give them confidence but also the boundaries. Dr Harmeet Singh, a GP in Perth concludes, This game does a great job of teaching our kids on their terms. Through the game, children are transported to a virtual street path to walk past people and collect hand sanitiser credits on the way to grandma.
