18.01.2022 First Aid Course

16.01.2022 Ouch! I love the ingenuity they used to support the object to reduce pain and further injury. Clearly they have done some first aid training. What a lucky man!

10.01.2022 Exciting news! SEQ First Aid Training now has Mental Health First Aid on scope. A lot of us, even if we have not been trained, have some idea of what to do for someone who is sick or injured. But do you know what to do if someone has a mental health crisis? This course covers first aid strategies and information on illnesses including depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts. This could benefit someone you work with or even friends or family. For further information contact ...us now. Mental Health First Aid Australia

06.01.2022 In a recent course it was mentioned to me that another trainer had said that in infant CPR, you must never use the two thumb method of compressions. I recognise what the resuscitation council guideline states about this and have attached the guideline so people can read it for themselves. However I think it is important to to note a couple of things, firstly the guideline states that laypeople should (not must) use the two finger method for compressions. Secondly the re...ason cited in the guideline is that this is done to minimise transfer time from compressions to breaths. In my opinion this means if you are confident and competent to perform compressions using the two thumb technique, then there is no drawback to doing compressions in this way. In fact if a first aider has difficulty in performing compressions using two fingers, surely it is better to have an alternative that allows them to perform effective compressions? I disagree that the thumbs method should never be used. Please let me know what you think or feel free to ask questions. Dave https://resus.org.au//anzcor-guideline-6-compressions-jan1
