25.01.2022 Underway with our base course layer. This needs to be perfect.

25.01.2022 Prime coat done by SS Bradley. They do top work.

24.01.2022 And I'm spent! After 800 tons of compacted fill, 300 tons of compacted road base, 20 tons of drainage gravel, 516 total man hours (or whatever they're called nowadays), 112m of kerbing, 40 tons of asphalt, 300m of line marking, 50 tons of top soil and 500 native plants (all planted by my wife); SEQ Civil has completed another quality car park for a very happy customer. See you on the next one!

24.01.2022 Paving operations commence.

23.01.2022 Finishing off the trim with the specialist 'micro' Laser Grader. Perfect result every time. Skillfully operated by Jack Chun.

23.01.2022 Making a start on the Kerbs.

21.01.2022 For those who've not seen kerb laid.

19.01.2022 Kerb complete. A couple of days to go off and where back for the sub base layer.

18.01.2022 Getting a bit damp and slippery!

15.01.2022 Mission Accomplished. (Well except for the line marking ).

13.01.2022 A pretty straight forward day today putting in the bio retention system to help ensure clean, filtered storm water in to the storm water system. Might get a test tonight!!

12.01.2022 All done. 600m2 of 2.3 grade sub base laid, compacted and trimmed to with +/- 5mm in just 6 hours (incl smoko). Cupla days to bake out and it's on to final base course layer.

11.01.2022 Nearly to the top.

11.01.2022 The blokes from East Coast Kerbing (ECK) always do a great job. Easy to work with, always looking for solutions rather than seeing problems.

10.01.2022 Oops! Didn't see that coming!!

07.01.2022 Don't know what happened to the spiel I put with this but it went something like this..... I gave the impression to some in a previous post that Snozza was one of this 'subbies' to whom I made disparaging remarks. However that was not my intention. Snozza is my hero! When I made a good comment about Hanson drivers I include Snozza, Luke and Dan in amongst them. In fact he's such a legend that even after he thought I had a go at him he still bought me lunch

07.01.2022 Brought in the big gun to do the bio planting out.

04.01.2022 4 different grades on 1 axis, 2 different grades on the other axis. To do this perfectly you'd need a quadruple grade laser (and there's no such thing!). OR...... you get SEQ Civil armed with the 'A-team', Jack & Brett, our little micro grader, 8 hours and an unbending willingness to get the job right for the customer and you end up with a perfectly graded, perfectly multi sloped car park ready for asphalt. Tell ya friends!

03.01.2022 Starting to look like a road.

03.01.2022 It's time to lay the sub base today. About 80% of job completed.

03.01.2022 The last stretch for Monday morning. See you all then!

01.01.2022 It took all day but we got to the half way point. Thanks to all the Hanson drivers who performed their roles well and got the road base up a fairly difficult slope. And NO THANKS to the Hanson subbies (mostly Dean Brithers drivers who did nothing but complain!! And finally credit to the grader operator, Jack, for his masterful work with the 12M.

01.01.2022 Spraying the prime seal in preparation for the laying of asphalt.
