24.01.2022 Sunday 1st November - Last Sunday for 2020 Get in one last run before the end of the year! 9am-930am : setup... 930am-10:45am : come n try for everyone including a scrimmage for the newbies and kids. 11:15am-1pm : full length exhibition match for experienced players. Remember to download the EVA check in app to make it quicker when you sign in. Please stay at home and keep our game safe if you are experiencing any flu like symptoms.

24.01.2022 Yay, today is the day! See you all down at Morayfield Sport & Events Centre at 9am for our come back - come n try day ! As part of COVID regulations it is a requirement that everyone attending check in, we are utilising the Eva check in app to do so. Dont forget to download it before you get there to make check in easier . Please do not attend if you have any flu like symptoms, have been overseas or to a hotspot in the last two weeks or you classify as high risk. In these cases its best to stay home.

22.01.2022 500 Days to go until the World Cup 2020 has been extremely difficult for many people, with much uncertainty about what is happening in the world. We are glad to... seeing some positivity shining through and hope to have our programs back up and running shortly. A great way to kick this off is with the rebranding and celebratuon of next years 2021 Rugby League World Cup, which will see us all coming together to celebrate #Unity and #Inclusion.

20.01.2022 WE ARE STILL ON THIS SUNDAY! Many of you will have heard the Governments advice to cancel public gatherings/events involving 500 people or more. We have decided to go ahead with this Sunday and will be taking extra sanitary precautions recommended to help stop the spread of the virus.... Advice relating to sporting events and other public gatherings will be revised by the government & health officials on Monday and as a club we will reassess future games based on their recommendations. If you are not able to make it this Sunday please let us know. For more information relating to Covid-19 please see the ink below.

18.01.2022 ***Behind the Scenes Update *** Tonight, regional leaders within Queensland came together with an independently appointed Chair to coordinate Wheelchair Rugby ...League within Queensland and across the 3 rugby league regions namely, North Queensland, South East Queensland and Central Queensland. It has been agreed with WcRL Australia, that these volunteers form the INTERIM management committee of the QWcRL. Beneath, JJ Atuhiva (SEQ), Ben Lowedikus (CQ) and Zac Shumacher/Bear Bretherton (as NQ proxies for Darren McKenna) there are supportive regional committees addressing return to play protocols locally and will soon be driving participation in their regions. For further information or questions, and as courtesy to the appointed Regional Leads, please contact your Regional Lead in the first instance. We hope to be in a position in coming months to form a legal entity to continue to represent all participants in our great State. It will be at this time that positions may be declared vacant and elections held in a clear and transparent manner. See you at the footy soon! 18.01.2022 Hi everyone, We will be sorting out the competition structure this week but to know how many teams we are working with can you please email us with your interest to register and play this season by Mid Thursday. [email protected]... Adults 16+ = $70 ($20 WRLA, $50 SEQ) Kids 15 & Under = $20 ($20 WRLA) Volunteers = Free The idea is to have an 8 round comp between March 8th - June 14th with finals. Representative season starts in June. There is a hold on online registrations at the moment but we will let you know as soon as they are back up and working again. He has been a vital part of setting up Wheelchair Rugby league in SEQ and the rest of the country, we know we wouldn’t be where we are now without him. We want to say a giant congratulations to him on being named the NRL’s volunteer of the year for 2020, it is more than well deserved!

10.01.2022 ***IMPORTANT UPDATE*** SEQ WHEELCHAIR RUGBY LEAGUE REGARDING CORONAVIRUS Dear SEQ Wheelchair Rugby League community,... Based on expert medical advice, State and Federal Governments have announced a "step change" approach to the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and as of Monday 16 March 2020, there will be restrictions regarding gatherings of people and non-essential overseas travel. Despite the Government recommendation not being actionable until Monday, based on discussion with Wheelchair Rugby League Australia & NSW Wheelchair Rugby League, SEQ Wheelchair Rugby League wishes to take a more proactive approach in protecting the health and wellbeing of the players and the families of our Wheelchair Rugby League community. As such, competitions in SEQ will not proceed effective immediately, and this position will be maintained until further notice. SEQ Wheelchair Rugby League will convene to discuss advice from experts and the league to manage the rapidly changing environment. The virus and potential implications are changing constantly, will be monitored and acted upon accordingly, and we will keep you updated as new information comes to hand.

04.01.2022 On behalf of SEQWRL I would like to thank the Australian Wheelaroos Coach Brett Clark and Manager Dave Nugent for an awesome session last night. I'm sure everyone who participated would've gone away learning something new. What a way to close the year off on. As President I was extremely proud at the improvement all players demonstrated last night. To see you all growing and improving in skills and passion and your personal growth is a great indication that the sport of Wheel...chair Rugby League will survive and get bigger and better in the future. 2020 has been a difficult and challenging one, yet we've all persevered and kept on facing and conquering the challenges head on. We've had changes within our management team which we are very excited about, a couple of imports from Blighty England and excited to see what 2021 brings. I would like to highlight a special and beautiful lady Gemma Harre who has worked tirelessly to keep the SEQWRL family running, together and happy. Lastly to each and everyone of our beloved members thank you so much for loving the game. I wish you all a very very merry Xmas and a happy, safe, healthy and prosperous New Year. See more

We take the health and safety of all of our members and spectators very seriously and will be following the advice from The Government, NRL & WRLA. We will keep you up to date with any related changes and look forward to seeing you all when we are back on. Please read below for a message about the postpon...ement from the NRL. ******** "COMMUNITY RUGBY LEAGUE POSTPONED To our valued Community Rugby League Participants, The National Rugby League (NRL), in partnership with State governing bodies, has postponed all Community Club Rugby League in Australia until at least the first weekend of May. The postponement includes all junior and senior Community Club Rugby League competitions, training, representative fixtures, gala days and future League Stars programs. The decision to suspend community rugby league activities immediately has been made after widespread consultation to assist in slowing the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The decision to pause all aspects of Community Rugby League activities in Australia has not been taken lightly. Community Rugby League is the foundation of our game and we are committed to seeing it flourish, however the health and well-being of our participants, volunteers and communities is our priority. Whilst you cant be in the stands or on the field right now, we can still hear you, we can still see you. 03.01.2022 Had an amazing turnout down at SEQ Wheelchair Rugby League on Sunday for the first game of the season. Was so refreshing to see new families and players turn up to try their hand at this sport both in the chair and in the stands. By far the most encouraging number and sights were not the ones on the scoreboard but those little people down there giving it a go and making new friends.....so very pleasing to see as this is where the future of this amazing sport not only begins b...ut continues....who knows how many of these little legends will be rolling around in the 2025 World Cup.... Thank you again to everyone who came down and participated in a wonderful morning. We look forward to seeing you all again next weekend and please bring your friends and connect people to this wonderful atmosphere. See you all soon....

Wheelchair Rugby League is an inclusive sport that is closely aligned with the running game of Rugby League. Player pathways include recreational to representative level opportunities for men and women of all ages and abilities. The organisation has reached an important milestone and is seeking to engage a qualified and experienced Participation Program Coordinator to build the capacity of the organisation and the sport across New South Wales, Queensland and the Australian Capital Territory.
